The sounds of birds chirped over head as the sky became cloudy. It was a beautiful day, the sun wasn't too bright and the wind was just right. The air was crisp and fresh with the smell of the forrest blowing by Sarah's face. Sarah was laying on the grass staring up at the sky. Her toes digging into the grass as she layed there. Her mom was sitting on a bench nearby rehearsing for an upcoming play.
All of a sudden she heard a thump. Jolting up she looked around but couldn't catch anything out of the ordinary. She stood up brushing the dirt and grass from her dress and turned around. She saw what looked to be something shiney. She walked up to the tree it sat next by and looked around. No one was nearby. She looked down at it and notice something else that was red. She reached down and analyzed the shiney object. It looked to be a woman with black curly hair that had glittery flowers woven into the curls and she wore a ballgown. She stood inside what looked to be an elegant canopy. Sarah's eyes lit up as she turned it over. It looks just like mom... It also.. Looks like me. She smiled as she felt a turn key below it. She twisted the key and listened to the soft music it played. It sounded so beautiful. She smiled ear to ear as she placed the figure down next to her to look at the red item. It was a red book wrapped in twine holding it shut. She undid the bow to show the words it covered. With curious eyes she traced over the gold pressed words and whispered it to herself. "Labyrinth.."
She opened it up to find the author but had no luck. It just opened up to the story. There once was a beautiful young girl that had eyes that would look through your soul..
Sarah smiled tracing the page. It looked to be handwritten like a diary. She skimmed through the first page and looked to the next. She grinned in amazement that it actually was a play. She picked up her new found treasures and ran as fast as her short legs could carry her to her mother.
"Mommy, mommy! Look what I found!" Sarah yelled excitedly as she held up the objects to her mom. Her mom peeped around her script to look down at her little Sarah. "What is it dear?"
Sarah pointed to the tree. "I found these over there by the tree! It fell right behind me! I couldn't find anyone nearby that dropped it but look! It looks just like us!" She held up the figure to her mom. She picked it up and smiled. "It looks just like you, Sarah." Sarah smiled brighter as she held up the book. "And I found this with it! It's a play! I could be an actress just like you mommy!" Her mom picked up the book and skimmed through it. She smiled softly handing it back to Sarah and looked around. The wind blew and the birds chirped but they were the only ones near the forrest. "Are you sure there wasn't anyone who dropped it as they passed you Sarah?" her mom asked looking back down to the jittery twelve year old.
"I'm sure mom! I looked all around me and found no one... Can I keep them?"Sarah's mom took one more look around and looked back down at Sarah. Her green eyes gleaming with anticipation and joy, she couldn't help but smile.
"Alright, Sarah you can keep it but we need to clean them up when we get home. It's getting late now, we should head back home." Sarah hugged her mom tightly before grabbing her treasures. "Thank you mommy. I love you."
"I love you too sweety." Sarah's mom held her tightly back before picking up their stuff. As they walked over the bridge Sarah's mom pointed to the tree that stood by the road. "Look Sarah! It's an owl! It really is getting late!" Sarah looked up and gasped in amazement. "It's beautiful!" Sarah watched it as it took flight and headed into the sky. I wonder where it's heading? She thought as her and her mom walked down the sidewalk. The sky started to turn pink as they made their way back home.

Sarah sat up wiping her eyes before looking around. The sun wasn't shining in her window just yet. The stars were faded though as the sky started to lighten up. I know I had a dream but I can't remember what it was. She took a deep breath and fell back on the bed. Why did I wake up so early? She turned over in her bed before jolting up again. She scanned her room before relaxing. Thank goodness. He didn't watch me sleep this morning. Better get dressed before he comes in here.
