"What are you saying?" She stared at the doctor, her eyes blood shot as tears poured down her face. Her long Raven hair was all over the place like she had been ripping it out. Her husband held her in his arms as she buried her face into his chest. "There must be something you can do." He looked up to the doctor with sorrowful eyes. The doctor took a deep breath taking in on how hard it is to tell them the truth, but it's his duty. He can't sugar coat the truth when it came to his patients. Wait a minute. That can't be...
"I'm sorry Mrs. Williams.." The doctor spoke with a soft sympathetic voice. "But you're physically unable to bear any children. There is no possible way for us to help you conceive." With that, the doctor turned away and left. Mrs. Williams looked up to her husband with tears pouring down her face. "Oh Robert, what are we going to do?" The room started to darken as the people faded away..
Sarah jolted upward breathing deeply. Recollecting the thoughts and thinking back to her dream. "That.. that can't be.." she whispered to herself. "It was just a dream." She sighed as she looked out the window. The moon was still out but she was wide awake. She looked around the room before getting up and making her way to the bathroom.
As she finished getting dressed, she slowly opened the door and looked down the hallway. It was dark and empty, the castle was in complete silence. She slowly closed her door behind her before making her way down the hallway and down the stairs. She hesitated when she reached the garden doors before opening them and making her way outside. The air was cool and clear, the air freshened her lungs as she took in a deep breath. She felt amazing this morning but didn't fathom why. The last few days have been rough but she wanted to get away from everyone and out of that room. She glanced over and noticed a gaurd taking a nap, his snores were soft and raspy. She giggled before tiptoeing past him down the steps and toward the path of light.
She didn't know why but she felt drawn here. When she made it to the opening, she noticed four gates. She remembered Jareth telling her about three but didn't remember the fourth gate. She walked over to it and noticed it had locks and chains all over it with a rusted sign in the middle, the words were unreadable. She tried looking between the bars but it was black. Sarah touched the lock and watched it fall to the ground as the chains rattled down and apart. It must've not been locked then. She thought to herself as she looked around making sure no one was nearby before opening the gate. She stood there as the gate opened making a creaking noise as it did. It doesn't seem anyone has been back here in a while. I wonder why there were chains on it. What was Jareth hiding? She felt a cool breeze blow past her from the entranceway. Soft voices echoed in her ear calling her. Sarah.. come inside.. She mindlessly took one slow step after another down the dark pathway. It continued to call to her. Sarah.. The whispers grew louder before they went silent as she came to a small clearing. It leads to nothing. She looked around and saw the clearing bordered by really tall hedges.
There was a circle in pebble rock in the center but aside from that it was vacant. Why would Jareth put a lock on the gate for this? Unless.. she stepped forward thinking back to the labyrinth. Things aren't always what they seem to be. She took a step forward then stopped. She looked around and still nothing. She took another step forward and touched the pebbles with her foot. Suddenly the pebbles started to glow bright as something rose up from the ground. She stepped backwards covering her face before the light finally faded. She looked over and saw a heavy wooden door with vines and roses engraved on it. There were words engraved on the front but she couldn't read it. It was symbols that must've been ancient cause she never seen anything like that before. Except, the gate. She remember there was a sign but it was blank and scratched out. Like the words were gauged out with a knife. She went to touch the letters before the symbols started to shift and move. She watched in amazement as they changed into words she could read. She squinted her eyes as she got closer to read the message.
