Sophia opened the door and walked in. She closed the door before going upstairs to her room. Her parents weren't home yet. Sophia was used to it, but she didn't mind. She liked to be alone. But she hated to be lonely.

Sighing she walked to her closet and changed into something more comfortable. She took her books out her bag and started doing her homework. Break would start next week and she was looking forward to it. Sophia loved the holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday. The lights in the streets that spread so much cheer and the snow falling down. She loved sitting under a blanket watching a movie while drinking hot chocolate when it's snowing outside. She just loved Christmas.

The front door opened again and Luke walked in. "Soph, are you home?" he yelled while closing the door behind him. "Upstairs." Sophia yelled back. Luke was Sophia's twin brother. Even though they were twins, they were nothing alike. They had fights so many times when they were kids, but they knew they could always count on each other. They always had each other no matter what. Their relationship was unique. There was no way you could separate them. They were always together. They did anything together. And now that they're 17, it's still like that. Nothing changed. Of course they can annoy each other sometimes, but still what they had, didn't have a lot of people. Like I already said; it was unique.

"What do you want?" Sophia asked when she noticed her brother stood in her room. "Well you see. Me and James were in the library during lunch." he started. Sophia groaned. "Not again. You know how strict that old lady is. Haven't you learnt your lesson yet?" she said. "Sorry." her brother mumbled. "When's the detention?" she asked. "Thursday." "Luke, I'm going to the mall with Romy after school." "I know. But can't you tell mom I'm going with you or something?" Luke suggested. Sophia raised an eyebrow. "And you think mom will believe you are shopping with me and my best friend? She knows you hate shopping." "Please?" He pouted. Sophia sighed. "Fine. I'll think of something." she gave in. Luke attacked her with a hug. "Did you know you're the best sister ever?" "Yeah yeah. I hear that every time I save your ass. And now get out. I need to do my homework." she said pushing him out her room. "Speaking of homework. Did you already make your math homework?" Sophia glared at him. "Okay. I didn't ask anything." Luke said and closed the door. Sophia shook her head. "Weirdo." She mumbled, sitting down at her desk again.

Sophia remembered last year her brother was grounded just when it was the biggest party of the year. Of course he wanted to go, because all the cool kids were going. She didn't want to go. But their parents made an exception. He was allowed to go only if she went as well. So he made her go with him. She doesn't even know why people call it 'the coolest party', because all she could see were drunk people everywhere. Later that night her brother had disappeared. So she went home alone. Her brother came home drunk and got grounded for another two weeks.

Luke will never learn his lesson. I told you; even though they are twins they are nothing alike. Sophia listens to her parents and follows the rules. Luke loves to break the rules. Don't get on his bad side. Hurt his sister and you're dead.

After Sophia finished her homework, she went downstairs. She always started to make dinner if her homework was done and her parents weren't home yet. They really appreciated it what Sophia did. She did a lot in the house unlike Luke. She helped her mom and cleaned the house. "What are you making?" Luke asked as he walked into the kitchen. "Something." Sophia replied. "No shit sherlock." Sophia rolled her eyes. Her brother could be so annoying sometimes, but she couldn't live without him. "You'll see." she told him. "Okay." he said and walked into the living room. He sat down on the couch and turned the tv on. "Justin Bieber will be in town to spend some time with his family for the ho-" "Luke, turn that off. You know I hate that guy!" Sophia yelled from the kitchen. "Yeah, I know. Sorry." he chuckled and changed channel.

The front door opened and their parents walked in. "Hey mom and dad." Luke greeted them before turning back to the tv. "Where's Sophia?" Their mom asked. "Kitchen." She walked into the kitchen and gave her daughter a hug. "Hey mom." Sophia smiled. "Thanks sweetie. But you don't need to do this." her mom told her. "I know. But I don't mind." "Oh mom, I'm going to the mall on Thursday with Romy and Luke is coming with us." Her mom looked at her. "Luke coming with you guys?" she asked not believing a word her daughter was saying. Sophia nodded. "It's weird, but okay." Her mom said and left the kitchen. Sophia sighed. If only this is gonna end up alright.
