Chapter 9

Niall Vision

Beep Beep Beep

The steady beeping of the machine Eve was hooked up to calmed my uneven heart. It meant she wasn’t dead.

Me and the others got rushed out of recording once we found out something was wrong. Eve had a black out. Or at least I think it was a black out, the doctors were still sorting things out.

“Please, just wake up” I whispered, not like there was anyone around to hear me. Everyone went home since it was getting so late, Eve had been out for around several hours. I only stayed behind in case she—however unlikely—woke up.

My hand was resting like a feather on hers—her thin, pasty white hand. I'm not sure why I ever though this would all work out fine and dandy. She was a leaf for goodness sake, she should have never left the apartment. I should have never brought her home. This was all my fault she was hurt. It was all my fault she would die like this.

“Mr Horan?” A gruff voice followed with a knock made me jerk my hand away, “Visiting hours are over, I'm afraid”

“I'm not leaving, I'm afraid” I bluntly responded, mocking his tone. There was no way I was leaving Eve in this state. Besides, if she woke up without me there she might think that I didn't care, or that I had left her.

“But, Mr Horan--” He was cut off.

“Not. Leaving.” My voice was cold now and I turned to glare at him. In response, he left.

Unconsciously I let out a large, long sigh. The way I was acting could easily be used against me. I always argue with the others that I wasn’t her boy friend, yet I was sure acting like one.

As I turned back around, ready and willing to spend the night in this cold hospital room with her. Green eyes met mine. Eve was awake.
