Chapter 5 Eve Vision

“You believe m-me?” I again couldn’t help my stutter. What made him believe me now of all times? My story was so far-fetched that I doubt it would even pass as a fairy tale. And if I were in his shoes, I'd never believe me.

“Yeah..” Niall grunted out his reply, “And before you ask, because I know you will, I don't know why...Guess I really am crazy, huh?”

“Guess so..” I looked up at him, Niall was looking out into the hallway and down into the kitchen where you could still hear the echo's of laughter made by the boys. After lingering in each others embrace for a little while longer, I could notice it. The aroma of perfectly cooked 'pancakes', they smelt delicious and very enticing.

“Hungry?” I giggled. He only nodded, licking off a drool droplet that formed on his bottom lip, I must have kept him away from breakfast for too long, poor guy must be starving by now. After all...what time was it? A simple glance at the wall clock told me it was around 10 or 11am. I was never good at reading those fancy clocks with only little bars to indicate the different hours. No, scratch that, I wasn't good at reading clocks at all.

Niall broke the hug first and grabbed me by the elbow, hastily leading me out the door and back down the hallway, “So you want to try telling the others about your real identity?”

I pondered for a moment, if telling them meant breaking out another argument then I never wanted to bring it up again, “Not really...Do you?”

“I don't know,” Niall turned the corner at the stairs, “Something tells me that they wouldn't take it seriously anyway, so why don't we keep this our little secret?”

I stopped, making Niall stop with me. I then spun him around and held out my little pale pinky finger, “Pinky promise then?” It was something I saw people doing back on the street to weld together a promise. Normally only the kids did this, but I could think of no better time.

Niall rolled his eyes playfully and laced his pinky with mine. I grinned.

“We don't need to pinky promise on something like this, Eve” He smiled too, which only made my smile grow bigger.

“I know, but I always wanted to do it” That wasn't a lie. Sometimes when I saw the people laughing and doing things I could never do, it made me a tad jealous. Back then, the thought of ever having a body seemed like poppycock.

“Well then come on Miss. Leaf-the-human-girl” Niall chuckled and etched a hand in behind my waist and pulled me along to the kitchen. Harry and the gang were still seated around the couch. And Louis, who was once so intrigued by me was now joining in with the play. Completely oblivious to the fact that I had slipped away. Well, maybe they did notice, but just didn't care.

“Look who rescued her little prince charming~” I heard the teasing voice of Harry address me first. Guess they did notice, “Couldn't stay away too long could you?”

I blushed and hid my face into Niall's side. The thought of having a 'Prince Charming' seemed too much for me. Besides, right now I only think of Niall as my friend—a really close friend--.

“Can it, Hazza” Niall didn't sound amused, “Now how wants breakfast?”

Niall removed his arm from around me and almost skipped into the kitchen. These pancake things must be really good if it made him act like that, I for one was really looking forward to trying one.

The boys jumped up and followed Niall like a pack of hungry wolves, and me being the only sensible one, awkwardly made my way up into a chair next to the table.
