"Ahem" I hear offender clear his voice. I snap into awareness and sit up. "Hello sir!" I say quickly. He chuckles. "I'm not a buisness man, call me offender". Oh thank God! That would get akward, calling a monster sir. "Ok. So I only saw one person come in and all they did was grab a game but he didn't do much else. What was his name...ben?" I say as I think back to last night. "Oh. I'll talk to him later. So I'll give you one hundred-" "hundred?!" I interupt him. "Yes, hundred. Is that enough?" His words were muffled by my own thoughts. So one hundred could get Alex in school and maybe even get us an apartment for a while and we can eat at night the government can pay for his school lunches this will change so much and Alex will be happy an- "Hello? (Y/n)?" Offender waves his hand in front of my face. I hug him tightly and say "thank you so much!". He chuckles and hugs back. I let go but he keeps hugging for a few more seconds before letting go. He hands me a hundred dollars bill. A BILL. I stare at it. They have hundred dollar bills?!?!?! "Well ill take you back no-" "wait! ...can I take an orange with me?"
(Timeskip)
Offender zips me to janayas house and I knock, her answering like normal. "Hi (y/n)! Here for alex?" She asks. I smile. "Yep!". She goes inside and returns with alex. "Hey buddy!" I hug him and he hugs back. So much for him being mad at me. "Thanks Janaya!" I say happily as we walk away. Alex looks at me as we walk and finally asks "so what job did you do?". "Housesitting" I say truthfully. "How much did you make?" He asks. I smile and pull out the hundred dollars. His eyes widen and he smiles. "Can we get a home?" He asks excitedly. "We could get an apartment for a while and I could get a job" I say. "Really?!" He asks excitedly. I smile and nod. "Plus you can go to school! You'd be in what, 6th grade?" I ask. He smiles and nods. "But what about you?" HE CARES!! it's so adorable. "After I get a job I can go to school too, ok?" I say. He sighs and nods and we walk to the school. "So your enrolling your brother?" The lady behind the counter asks. "Yes please" I say. Alex is sitting on a chair by the door. "You realize it only takes 25 dollars for an enrollment here, you can both get into school" She says as she raises an eyebrow. Half of my hundred for us to both get an education......that'll get me a job faster PLUS we can use the other 50 for an apartment! "That would be lovely. So he'll come to this school and I'll go to the high school building?" I ask. "Yep! School starts tommarrow for you two" TOMMARROW?!? "Ok! Thanks, come on alex!" I say as I shoo us out. "But we only have these clothes!" Alex says. "Yeah I noticed I'll get a job after school tommarow and I'll get us new clothes, ok?" I say. He sighs and nods and we start walking to an apartment complex. "Alright that's 2 months for fifty dollars, here's your key" the man says grisly as he hands me the keys. I smile and pay him our money before walking to the room with alex. It wasn't that bad of a room plus they left a fruit basket on the table. This is perfect! A large bed in each room, two rooms total. "Ok Alex, this is your room and this is mine" I say as I look at them. They were the same size so it didn't matter. He runs into his room to explore and I walk into my own. There's a closet with sliding doors and a dresser. I flop onto my bed and notice a wooden nightstand next to it with a light. Neat. Oh! The orange! I walk into Alex's room to find him passed out. Must've been a stressful day. I smile and walk into the dining room, setting the orange in the fruitbasket. It goes with the other fruits...I think....it looks cool so I don't care. I sit on the couch and look at the tv before flicking it on. No porn, nice. I find a show called ridiculous and sit back watching it, happy about everything I've achieved. I see a phone on the wall, nice.....*yawn* im....I'm just gonna rest my eye...sss
