The spiked robot vented some steam before it shot over to me with the speed of a bullet, but I easily jumped over him and, as he passed beneath me, I delivered about thirty kicks in between his spikes before landing on my feet.

I turned around to observe the damage I had done, but noticed it barely had a couple of scratches. It's back is armored, figures. Seeing how his back faces the sky as well as the top of his arms and legs, I'll assume those are armored too. That makes his bottom the weak point, but that's gonna be a pain to reach. I also noticed how he had something written on his back: 'FZ-2'. I wondered if that was his name.

It turned around and shot forward again, but once again I lept over it. I wonder why he doesn't attack me when I'm defenseless in the air. Is it because that exposes his weak point? Or is there another reason?

As I was looking for a way to beat him, he came towards me again, but this time I dodged to the side. But, to my surprise it didn't turn around and come for me a second time. Wait a second, I just figured out a way to beat him. It seems he's not actually fast, he's just capable of launching himself at high speed...

I then stood still and waited as the robot prepared to attack me again. As it shot towards me once more, I sidestepped, placed my hands on the ground and delivered an upwards kick as it passed by, sending it flying. I then lept up and prepared to deliver a barrage of kicks to its bottom when all of a sudden it turned it's back to me and shot towards me. I managed to place my hands on his side and flip over him just in time or I would've been impaled.

So it can change its trajectory in mid-air. That's bound to cause trouble. However, I also noticed that it seemed to take longer for him to come towards me again, so he probably needs longer to recharge after altering his trajectory.

I then charged towards him and kicked him directly in the face. It barely did anything, but I then kicked upwards against his chin and sent him flying while he spun around. But, as he hung above me, his spikes pointed directly downwards and he shot himself down. If I hadn't been able to roll out of harms way I would've surely been impaled. However, now that my plan had succeeded, I could easily finish him off as I lept above him and unleashed an unrelenting barrage of devastating kicks.

To my surprise he got up, but he moved a lot slower and his eyes had turned red and were blinking on and off. This confused me, but not for long...

(Grant's perspective)

As my wife began fighting her target, I walked over to mine. It was an incredibly tall robot, I'd guess about 3 meters, that looked incredibly powerful and had two massive hammers where its hands should be.

As I stood in front of him, he brought one of his hammers crashing down on top of me. I blocked it by putting my arm above me and felt just how strong this one was.

I smiled and said: "Easy there, big fella.", before pushing the hammer away from me and punching him right on the chest. However, to my surprise, he barely moved from where he stood. He hadn't even had to take a single step backwards.

"I'm going to enjoy breaking this one", I said before I unleashed a barrage of blows upon the robot.

The robot attempted to return the blows by attacking at the same time, but only managed to deflect a quarter of my attacks. As he tried to hit me from the side, I noticed that he had something written on his arm: 'FZ-3'. Could that be his name? I didn't have to much time to think about it as I jumped backwards to evade the blow.

I then decided to go for another approach, seeing that it was a lot slower to me. I moved behind him before he even noticed and simultaneously took out his knees. I then moved back to the front and unleashed a barrage of punches to his face.

This time it had a bit more of a result as I saw his movements getting slower and rougher, but he then stood up as if he was in perfect working order as his eyes started blinking. This confused me for a second, but then I understood...

(Pain's perspective)
------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw how Nicole and Grant started to unleash their full powers on their opponents, so I pulled out two sub-machine guns and unleashed a hail of bullets on my opponent as well. Unfortunately, they all bounced off of its metal shell.

It then fired one of its spiked balls at me, but I managed to dodge it. I could now see that there was a long chain attached to the ball and assumed that was the case with all of them. Great, picking him off from a distance was no longer an option now.

I grabbed one of the grenades from my belt and threw it at the robot. It bounced a couple of times and ended up in between the robots legs as it went off. Pieces of dirt flew everywhere as a loud explosion filled the air. But, as the smoke cleared, it also became clear that I barely managed to do any damage and that the explosion had worked to my disadvantage as I didn't see the large , spiked ball flying at me until the last second. I tried to dodge, but it was far too late and the ball hit me in the stomach.

I fell down and coughed up some blood before scrambling back to my feet. I was lucky that I was wearing body armor or the spikes would have impaled and killed me. However, just the force behind the steel ball was enough to inflict some serious damage. As I found out the hard way.

I decided that long-range combat was only going to work in the robots favor so I decided to run towards him, dodging two spiked balls along the way. As the chains shot past me, I decided to grab my pistols and shoot at the chains. The bullets ricocheted of the chains, but they may have actually done some damage.

I had to duck as they were retracted though and I then lept up to dodge three more spiked balls being flung towards me. I pulled out my trusty shotguns, which were modified to be one-handed weapons, and delivered some high-powered shots to the chains and the robot itself. One of my bullets took out the robots left eye, but other than that I barely did any damage. I also noticed how the robot had 'FZ-1' written on him.

I kept blasting the robot while slowly circling around him, but he didn't react whatsoever. I figured that eye may have caused a short circuit, but as I approached the front I noticed that his right eye was blinking and I soon found out what that meant...

The robot vented some steam as his parts started coming loose and it was only then I realized how the other two robots were doing the same. They then walked over to each other, while the three of us were still confused. They then started fusing into one large robot, covered in spikes with cannons on his shoulders, elbows and knees to fire the spiked balls and two enormous hammers as hands.

His head was also completely different and he now spoke to us: "My name is FZ-X. I am assigned to destroy you. There is no esca-". He was stopped abruptly as Grant punched him and Nicole kicked him in the face at the same time.

Grant then turned to me and shouted: "Pain, hurry and leave. We can take this oversized pile of scrap. Go help out one of your friends."

I nodded and ran off to the direction where Blood and Jake were supposed to be. I still managed to catch some of FZ-X's words as I left hearing range: "Foolish moves like that won't get you anywhere, mister ERROR. NO DATA FOUND ON OPPONENT."

I smiled, knowing they had the upper hand on the robot as I picked up the pace and ran as fast as I could. Something was wrong, I just knew it...
