Chapter 7

Sophie P.O.V
Nya let me stay in her room, since no other room had space. Nya had already changed into her 'pajamas', which included shorts and a t-shirt. A few scars caught my eye...

Miranda had a cut on her wrist...I didn't say anything. I know I'm not supposed to. After dinner Miranda looked more anxious then usual. "Are you worried about the cuts in your wrists?" I ask. I know I shouldn't say anything but I'm worried...

"Listen...if you see anyone and I mean anyone with these scars, give them a hug and if it's fresh...tell them everything will be alright..." Miranda sighs and then leaves. I give her a quick hug. "Everything will be alright auntie," I say sweetly. I feel tear drops and let go.

So I go over and give Nya a hug. "You give good hugs," Nya says, with a laugh. "But why are you hugging me?" She adds. "You have scars..." my voice trails off. Nya suddenly hides her face from me. "You okay?" I ask. "Yeah...yeah...I'm fine," Nya mumbles and let's go, then puts the blanket over herself. Is she crying? Did I do something wrong again? Skylor walks in...she's changed her clothes and lays down on the mattress for her.

"Skylor what are the scars that some people have on them?" I ask. Skylor bites her lip. "It's probably better if you didn't know," she says and turns away. What is up with everyone?

Everyone was outside for training, I walk around and see some red on the floor. Looks like someone dropped some juice...like Miranda did back home. In both situations they smell...bad, but I clean it up anyway. No one wants a mess anyway. Luckily I clean it up before anyone came back. I wash off the towel and leave it to dry.

"Ready to go?" Misako asks, tying her hair into a braid. "Yes," I answer, following her outside. We landed overnight so it wasn't a problem getting down. No one else knows about it...but why? It's not a good thing to keep secrets right? Maybe some things just need to be hidden...

Jay P.O.V
Man I hate this stupid cold! I have a fever now because of it! Zane better watch his back. I really want to train and not be useless...i wanna help but I can't with this stupid fever! It was nice of Zane to bring me some warm tea though, Kai to light me a fire to keep warm during the night, Lloyd and his really warm blankets were a ton of help too. Then you have Cole, who helped everyone with their task of helping me. Nya just started acting like my adoptive mom, Edna. She's been scolding me every time I get outta bed, making sure I took the medicine. Which tastes HORRIBLE I'll add. I feel valued but I also feel useless. Like being happy but sad at the same time.

I pretty much sleep all day until Nya comes in...looking like she's made a horrible mistake. "What's wrong?" I ask. "You know about my scars...your the only one who I told about this," Nya starts. I raise an eyebrow. "Well..." Nya tells me what happened last night before she went to bed. I don't really think it's something to worry about. "Still doesn't explain why you're so stressed out," I say. "Like, she doesn't know what they are, but then she knows just a tiny bit," Nya tries to explain. "I still don't get it," I look confused. "Ugh, how do I explain this? I guess I'm just mad at myself for doing it. It never helped...it just made me more desperate," Nya mumbles to herself. "She's so innocent. She has no idea what's going on...if she finds out..." Nya's voice trailed off. "It'll be fine. Nothing to worry about. Besides...we all have secrets," I remind her. Nya smiles, then leaves to go back to training.

"Uh Jay, Zane wanted me to give this cup of tea," Sophie says and brings me a cup. "Thanks," I say and take it, then start to drink the warm tea. "You seen pretty lonely," Sophie notices, looking out the window. "Yeah...this cold is making me miss out on everything. I don't wanna be useless to the team," I reply. "Your not useless. I may have only been here for a day but I can sense the strong bond between you guys...I find it amazing," Sophie says, still looking out the window. How is that possible? "You're a fast learner aren't you?" I question. Sophie nods. "That'll come in handy for you," I say. Then she backs away from the window quickly. "What's wrong?" I get up. "N-nothing. I'll just take this and leave," she grabs the empty cup and leaves the room. I look out the window to see nothing suspicious...or scary...

I wonder if there's some connection between Sophie and the Overlord, not everyone has his last name. But then again, he just vanished...I go over different things that could've happened. Clearly it isn't working and nothing is making any sense to me.

No one's P.O.V
Misako stares at the picture of her sisters and brother. "Why? Why Kate?" She mumbles to herself. "Where are you Miranda? Our niece is right here," she whispers. Lloyd walks in, seeing the concerned look on his mom's face. "Mom if there's anything wrong please just tell me," Lloyd says. Misako looks at him, shaking her head no. "I wish I could. But if I did...I'll be putting all of you in danger. I need to find M-oh no," Misako says. A terrible thought enters her mind. "What's going on?" Lloyd asks, he didn't like how his mother is acting. "Whatever you do do not let anyone out of the bounty," Misako instructs. "Mom what's going on?" Lloyd runs after her as she runs out. "Please Lloyd. Don't let anyone leave. I'm begging you, it's for your safety," Misako pleads," with a sad smile, Misako disappears...
