It all happened in slow motion. Fabian was pinned by a wight, and his future looked grim. Gideon lept foward and tackled the wight, wrestled him to the ground, and slit his throat with a small knife he had on him. What he didn't see, didn't notice, was the small wight.

In a maroon suit.

With a gun.

But Fabian noticed him. He shouted for Gideon to stop, to move, to do anything. He did nothing. The man in the maroon suit fired the gun, pointed squarely at Gideon. Millard watched, helpless, hopeless, as the bullet shot through Gideon's body. He went rigid, and fell to the ground. A thick wave of black smoke rolled off of his body, killing every wight and hollow in it's path, and knocking out everyone else it passed.

Millard's vision went black, and he collapsed.
