Courtney's POV

As everyone tried to get comfortable, daryl and michonne tried to hunt, in hopes we could find some food. Hershel was heating up beans so if we didn't have meat, we would have something. Rick gathered fire wood. Maggie and Glenn set up traps to keep us safe. Carl chopped vegetables for judith. We decided veggies would be mainly for judith since she was running low on formula. I went into the woods with a flashlight and 3 empty jugs trying to find water. I walked with the jugs strung up on my back while my pistol was in one hand with the flashlight in the other. I walked for what about 15 minutes. I found a small back road. It had a stream and an rv. Sadly there was no keys. I filled the jugs and came back to camp. Thats when I saw It. There was a group of men trying to kill or group. I stabbed one in the chest. There was about 15 of them. I looked around. Everyone was fighting.  Maggie  and glenn were protecting our van. Carl and rick protected our food. michonne and Daryl were just killing them.  Daniel and his small group wee fighting the best they could. Until Daniel was shot. He was taken down by a shotgun held by a fat teenager. Finally we killed them off.  We all ran over to daniel. He was dead. his brothers decided to break off from our group. they wanted to stay there and wait for daniel to turn. We packed up and left. We were on our way. Where to? We dont know.

We talked it over and we think that Academy would be the best place for us to start. They had supplies we needed and luckily, he one here has a walmart and a sams club right next door. e drove and decided that driving through the night would be good cause we didn't want another attack. We drove in silence. We should be there in about an hour. I decided to take a nap. I was soon awaken by Maggie waking me up telling me we were here. We all piled out of the van except for hershel and carl. They stayed int he car with judith and kept watch for walkers. We all walked in with our weapons up. We walked in the doors suprised. there was no walkers. The only thing you could hear was a ball shuffling against the floor. We walked in expecting there to be a walker, but, there was a only a boy appearing to be around 16. "Well yall just gonna keep pointing weapons at an innocent kid playing soccer, or yall gonna introduce yourselves?" we all looked at Rick knowing he was in charge of this situation. We nodded and we dropped our weapons. Slowly we introduced ourselves. "Im Joel. Your welcome to stay, But you will have to help. But since there are quite a few of you, there will plenty of work to do." We told him about our group. We unloaded our supplies and got to know Joel. Maybe this would be a safe haven maybe a new home.  Maybe happiness?
