Courtneys POV

The garden in the roof was already helping us. We had already have a whole crate full of fruits and vegetables that we are canning for winter. Rick and Hershel were working the garden. Everyone was inside cleaning and re arranging. We needed to make some repairs to the store. We needed to add new barricades on the doors and we wanted to try to get to the breaker box to see if we can get some electricity. We would need the heat cause winter would be here in about 2 weeks. I decided that I needed to start getting some things for Judith. Sure she has food, but she doesn't really have many diapers left. She will need some more clothes soons and the whole group could us some more blankets. So I grabbed my bow and arrow and a water and a large duffel bag. I told Daryl I was leaving to get supplies, but he insisted on coming along. So I allowed him as we loaded up on 2 different four wheelers. We rode into a  small town with a baby store. I ran in and grabbed 2 jugs of water off the huge stock. This store had been untouched. I grabbed 3 new toys for her, as many boxes of diapers i could fit on my large four wheeler, 4 new outfits, and then I made my way to the back. There were a whole medical supplies room in the back. Ii grabbed some matches, 7 first aid kits, some pain killers, cold medicine, and some wash clothes. I made my way over to the make up section. I had a little room in my bag so I grabbed some things for us girls. I grabbed some mascara, some concealer, and some more chapstick. I got some hair stuff like hair ties, hair brushes and bobby pins. I then grabbed about 10 different colors of nail polish and some nail polish remover. I also grabbed 4 new packs of socks for us. I was making my way through the store, then something caught my eye. It was something I hadn't seen in a very long time. Something that everyone would thank me for. I ran over to the huge isle full of candy. Daryl was already there loading a box with a little bit of everything. I loaded up with candy and chips, and then walked over to the no longer refrigerated isle. I grabbed 5 12 packs of soda like pepsi, sprite, coke, and Dr. pepper. On our way out we grabbed a couple packages of tooth paste and tooth brushes. We loaded up and drove home. We must have been gone about 2 hours. Everyone was excited to see what we got. We decided that tomorrow we would go back to the store with a truck and all 3 four wheelers so we could get everything there is since there is so much. I quickly ran to the showers so I could wash up. I wanted to stay around our little shelter tomorrow and hunt. At this rate we would barely make it through winter. I was gonna take Judith and the rest of the kids to the creek after I hunted to all wash clothes so we could save our water. I figured on our way back we could stop by the few apple trees and load up. I went to the kitchen to help Beth prepare dinner. We were making pasta salad. I made sure everyone got a soda tonight. We all ate some candy after dinner and started talking around the fireplace we installed. "I was gonna see if it was ok to take the kids to the creek so they could get out before its too cold. I figured its warm enough now so we can wash clothes and maybe play in the creek for like an hour. Then on our way back we can stop by the apple trees and get plenty of fruit." rick responded with "sure why not? On one condition." I answered. "What?" He smiled "we all get to go." I laughed and agreed. We decided to go to bed early so we could leave early. I packed my bag with sunscreen and some sun glasses. I went to sleep immediately. I had a busy day tomorrow.
