~ A week later ~The kanima. It's here.
I was standing alone. I could feel it - I was mortified.
It was as if everything was going in slow motion. The kanima was jumping towards me but it was frozen right in front of my face.
"Wake up..." The kanima hissed, its voice becoming familiar. "Wake up..."
---
I woke up breathing heavily. Alec's voice ringing through my head.
I jumped up from my bed as soon as I was no longer disoriented, but suddenly I felt something push me to the ground. "What the hell?" I said, Alec helped me up.
"What happened-" He started but stopped. I turned to what he was looking at and there it is. I mean there she is.
This girl, she looked about my age, probably a bit older, I couldn't really tell because she was wearing sunglasses, I don't really know why it's not even sunny. She had curly purple, pink and blue hair, she was also wearing a sparkling pink dress and heels. Well then, she really went all out.
"There you are." She said and grinned suspiciously. "Sorry Stiles, I didn't know who you were, actually I did." She laughed.
"Who the hell are you?" I sneered. She laughed.
"Well I'm great thanks for asking." She replied with a sarcastic laugh.
"That wasn't what I asked you." I looked at her with an angry and annoyed expression on my face.
"Sassy attitude dear, and I wouldn't give me any of that if I were you." She stated grabbing her side of her sunglasses, pulling it half down and looking straight at the plant next to me, and it was burnt to a crisp as if it had never been there. I gasped in surprise.
Alec quickly jumped in front of me defensively, pulling his bow from behind him out of habit.
"Now, now, Robin Hood, I would put that back down." She demanded and Alec did as she said with fear in his eyes. I was instantly discouraged - Alec never showed his fear.
"What do you want?" I protested almost hyperventilating.
"I see you have a parabatai, or whatever chinese name you call it." She used air quotations when she said 'parabatai.'
"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked, acid practically dripping from my words as I got ready to grab my blade that was fortunately lying on my bed side table.
"Oh, it's just that now I'm going to have to get rid of you." She laughed a little and pulled down her sunglasses again to show her neon green eyes. She turned on her heel and began walking away.
Alec wasn't going to let her off that easy. "You'll never get to him. I'm protecting him."
Sapphire giggled again. "Tough luck." She lifted her hand to her side and did a peace symbol. Alec and I scoffed.
I blinked, still unsure if I was dreaming or not.
She walked out of my room. I needed answers, so I followed her. "What do you mean? Why do you have to get rid of me?" I questioned. She doesn't respond. I was already sick of this girl. "Answer me!" I shouted enraged.
"Honey-" I cut her off. "Don't call me honey." I said irritated.
"Look, Stiles, You and little Scott shouldn't be parabatai, I'm not going to say anything else." She asserted.
"What?" I replied, flustered. How did she know Scott?
"Truth is," Sapphire admitted, "A werewolf and a Shadowhunter can't be parabatai. Not unless you two have a past." She spun around and with that she was gone with a cloud of ash where she was standing.
I reached my hand out hoping that this was just an illusion. When my hand went straight through the ash I knew that this was all real. I fell to my knees as I realized the trauma of the situation.
Someone really was trying to get rid of us.
