Luke walks back to me handing me a purple glass that looks like it’s for a five year old. I laugh at my own thought when Luke suddenly asks me if I wanted to go back to the mall. I think he feels bad for ripping me out of there so quickly, but I don’t mind it was either that or get mobbed by a crowd of people. The thought of it made me uncomfortable; I am used to going unnoticed in most places, even at parties I just mainly hang out with Laila and Lily. Lily is a friend of mine that I’ve known for about three years now. She’s the type of girl that would be your “Shoulder to cry on” one minute then the next trying to steal your boyfriend. So, I decided to keep her as a friend to try to avoid this side of her.
The thought of Laila makes me remember that I left her and Grace in the mall. I need to find them because I drove and I don’t want to get them locked in a mall… I call Grace and she picks up on the third ring like usual “Hey Madi where are you? We’ve been looking for you since noon!” I looked around for a clock, and when I found one it read ‘2:00’ Oh god.. They didn’t hear about what happened. “Grace, I’ll come find you guys, and then we’ll drive home.” I say trying not to look at Luke who had suddenly become more interested in my conversation. “Ok see you soon Madi.” And with that, our conversation was over and I was telling Luke that I needed to go back into the mall to find my friends.
“Ok Madi I’ll walk back with you” He said looking down at his feet.
“No, I don’t think that’s such a good idea considering what happened a couple hours ago.” I say between laughs.
“Ok but call me when you get home I don’t want you getting mobbed or anything.” I don’t think I have his phone number but as I look through my contacts, there it is Luke’s name with a number under it. I don’t remember putting my phone down but I must have at one point or another.
I walk off the bus thanking Luke for letting me on after what happened and head towards the mall. It’s slightly cooler than it was earlier but I ignore it as I quickly run into the mall to find Laila and Grace. Luckily for me I find them in the first store I enter, Hot Topic. I know that Laila dragged Grace in there because Grace hates that store. I see Laila holding numerous amounts of t-shirts from bands I had never even heard of, but they seem to please her.
After Laila is done shopping we walk out and head into the direction of the exit when I see Brandy Melville. We all love that store and can never walk past it without wanting to buy something. So, the three of us walk in and the loudest shriek is heard.
