How could I be so stupid? Certainly I wasn't thinking with my head. After she confessed such a horrible act of violence, after she opened up and shared her deepest secrets and the root of her behavior and phobia, I went ahead and kiss her. Brilliant Camden!
The moment my lips made contact with hers, I knew I was in deep shit. This time she tensed up froze in place. She didn't panic. Thank heavens for that, because honestly I couldn't take anymore today.
When I pulled back she was saying, "I'm sorry." and she looked down trying to avoid my gaze.
"Dani look at me." She let out a sigh before looking up."I'm the one that is sorry. I was stupid. I let my emotions rule my body. After all you have been through today, I just... I don't even know what to say." I was certainly rambling and making a fool of myself.
She smiled at my rant. "It's ok."
We couldn't talk anymore because there was a lot of shouting coming from downstairs. Dani looked scared. "What is going on?" she asked me, her voice trembling.
"I don't know. But I will go check it out. Will you be okay by yourself for a few minutes?" I didn't wanted to leave her side, but the shouting was making her nervous.
"I'll be fine, but please come back quickly."
"I will be back as soon as I can love." Did I just call her love? Oh Lord. Her eyes went big and wide. Surely she wasn't expecting that. Jeez, I wasn't expecting that to come out of my mouth either.
She looked away and I took that as my cue to go. I started to hear familiar voices on my way downstairs. I shouldn't be surprised, of course it was my father's voice.
I stayed at the top of the stairs, I wanted to hear what he was arguing about.
"The media is going to have a field day with this, and if they keep digging they will find out about my past relationship with you and your company." I knew by that piece of information that he was taking to Mr. Ellison.
"Shut the hell up Charles, just shut up! Is that all you care about? You, you and you? Our son is in danger along with Gaby's and Chris' daughter, and all you can think about is the media? You are a selfish bitch!"
Did my mom just called my dad a bitch? I couldn't believe it. My mom finally stood up for me and for herself! I felt pride and admiration for her.
I wanted to keep snooping a little bit more into their conversation, but at the same time the desired to see my father's face at this moment won. She called him a bitch. I went downstairs just to see his face.
What I saw on his face was absolutely priceless. A look of disbelief on his face, mouth wide open, and nose flaring with rage. It was the weirdest and funniest expression I have ever seen on his face. I tried not to laugh but his face, I started laughing uncontrollably.
They all look at me like I was out of my mind. Mom was the first one to react. She ran to me and hugged me so hard. Wow, my mom had some strength behind those arms! I was almost out of breath because of her tight hold on me.
"Are you ok honey?" her eyes are teary and puffy like she had been crying for a while.
I put one of my hands on her face, caressing her cheek. "I'm fine mom. Don't you worry, everything is going to be fine." I smiled at her, because at that moment I felt her love and support. At that moment, I knew exactly how much she really cared about me.
"You truly don't deserve a son like Camden Charles, he is an exceptional kid." Mr. Ellison said while looking at me and my mother."But just so you can have some peace of mind, they are both minors so no information can be divulged, and the press can't have access to their names. Not that that should be your main concern, your main concern should be your son's well being!"
