September 10, 2011 (One week later)—7:35 AM
A week has passed since I auditioned and I have told nobody except for Brianna. And I pretty much went back to the way my regular life was and today I was working, now is it pathetic to say that I work at Starbucks? Well whatever at least it was a job.
Today was no different than all of the other days, having to deal with your occasional rude customers, and the ones who tell you what to do and not to do to their drinks. It can be a real pain in the ass though.
As the next customer came to the counter, I didn’t even look up. “Welcome to Starbucks how may I help you today?”
“So this is where you work.” I heard a familiar voice say.
I looked up and even through the sunglasses I could tell who it was “Milan Lucic!” I said kind of loud.
“Shh. I don’t want to get stampeded on.”
“Wha-what are you doing here?”
“I came here to see you. Can you ask for a break?”
I sighed and even though I should’ve said no, I really wanted to hear what he had to say. I turned to my co-worker “Hey Angela could you cover me, I’m going to take my lunch break now.”
“Sure but isn’t too early to eat lunch?”
I took my apron off and hung it up before getting my bag. “Well I guess its breakfast. Thanks Ang.”
I walked over to Lucic and saw him smirk “Good now follow me.”
We walked out and I watched as Lucic got into a Range Rover. He then looked over at me “Are you going to get in?”
I huffed and got into the car, the reason why I don’t know. As we were driving I asked “Where are you taking me?”
“You’ll see.” He responded.
“Look you are freaking me out. Now tell me where you are taking me or else I’ll jump out of this car.”
Lucic laughed “Chill out we’re here.”
He shut the engine off and as I looked up I saw that we were at TD Garden.
“What are we doing here?”
“Well I got practice.” Lucic said as he grabbed his gym bag from the backseat of the car.
“And you brought me.”
“Man Armstrong you got to relax with these questions. Now just follow me and you will find out your answer.”
“Fine.”
Lucic gave me a light punch before walking into the arena. I followed Lucic down the hall and had no idea what was going on or why I was even following him. After a few minutes of walking, I stopped right in my tracks when I saw the rink where the Bruins always played on and as I was being mesmerized by such beauty that was when I finally noticed that Cam Neely and coach Julien were standing in front of me.
“Oh gosh.” I looked over at Lucic “What is going on here?”
“Hello Armstrong, I am Cam Neely the President of the Bruins.” He said as he extended his hand.
I shook it “I know who both of you are. But may I ask what is going on?”
Neely smiled “Well I saw you at the tryouts and I must say that you were very impressive. So impressive that it would be an honor if you would play for the Boston Bruins.”
I laughed “You’re kidding me.”
Neely shook his head “No I’m serious.”
I looked at Lucic “Is he serious?”
