June 10, 2012—4:35 PM

I stood in front of the mirror making sure that my outfit was good enough for the press conference, while looking at myself in the top corner of the mirror I saw Tyler standing in the doorway. He walked over and stood behind me as he placed his hands on my shoulders.

“You don’t have to go to the conference.” He whispered low.

I looked up at the mirror so I could see his reflection “I’m going to go Tyler.”

He sighed and rubbed my arms “Are you sure about it? I mean today…”

“Marks the 19 year anniversary of my mother’s death.” I turned to Tyler “And I know that she would want for me to go to the conference.”

Tyler sighed again and kissed my forehead “Okay.”  He then interlocked his fingers with mine “Let’s go.”

I nodded and we walked out of our condo and headed towards the Garden.

After getting out of the car the sounds of screams coming from the fans increased. Tyler and I smiled and waved to them before entering the Garden. We would have normally signed autographs and taken pictures with our fans but we needed to head to the press conference.

When I walked into the locker room, I saw my teammates. I smiled “Wow. I bet this is the last time I’m going to see my teammates dressed in suits.”

The guys all laughed and Looch came over and draped his arm on my shoulder “Tomorrow we’ll be in suits again.”

I laughed and slapped Milan in the chest “Ha, very funny!”

“ARMY!!!” I heard a little voice squeal.

As I turned around that was when I saw Tammy and Nathan’s son Dylan running through the locker room door. I smiled and bent down as I held my arms wide open. Dylan ran straight into them locking his arms around my neck. I placed my arms around his tiny body and stood up.

“Oh my gosh! It’s my little Dill-Pickle!” Dylan giggled and I couldn’t help but smile. “I haven’t seen you in a long time.”

“I know, how come?” He asked while touching my earrings.

“Oh I’ve been busy with hockey and other things. But hey are you going to be at the game tomorrow?”

Dylan nodded “Yup! Front row.”

“And whose jersey number will you be wearing?”

“Yours!” He smiled.

I laughed and hugged him tighter “That’s my man, now where’s your mommy?”

“Right here.” Tammy called as she entered the locker room with her two and a half month old son, Zachary, in her hands.

She walked over to me and gave me a hug, as she pulled away she looked over at Dylan “He has been begging all week to see you and when he saw you walking down the hall he literally ran after you.”

“Looks like someone has a little crush on my girlfriend.” Tyler joked causing the guys to laugh.

Dylan smiled “Maybe.”

As we were laughing Milan came over with his girlfriend Brittany. “But Dill I thought you liked Brittany.”

He nodded “I did, but Army’s younger.”

Everyone laughed even harder and I turned to Dylan “Don’t worry Dillster you are always going to be my main-man.” I kissed him on the cheek.
