I shot my head towards Tyler, not believing what he just said “What!?”

“I’m the person who bid $45000.”

I scoffed “You dumbass! Why would you do that!?”

“It was the only way I could get you alone with me so that we could talk.”

I chuckled “Looks like you wasted 45 grand because I am not going on this date with you.”

I turned around so my back was now facing Tylers’. He let out a sigh “I’m not going to force you to go on this date but if you change your mind I am going to be at the rink.”

I looked up in the mirror and saw Tyler leave the room. I closed my eyes and that was when the first tear fell. I wiped it away and that was when Nathan and Milan stood up.

“I didn’t see that coming.” Milan said breaking the silence.

I sat down on the bench and just ran my hand through my hair. I could not believe that Tyler was the one who bid, however I was somewhat glad that he bid on me. I buried my face between my hands and just let out a heavy huff.

I felt a hand on my shoulder; I looked up and saw it was Nathan. “So, are you going?”

I scoffed “No.” Nathan sighed and sat next to me, as he gave me a sad puppy dog look. I scrunched my eyebrows together “What?”

“Why won’t you go?”

“Because I don’t want to.” I stated as I walked back over to the mirror.

“Army you got to stop this shit.” Milan said.

I turned to look at him “I thought you weren’t going to get involved in my problems with Tyler.”

“Well I lied. I don’t care anymore Army; I’m putting my foot down because right now you are miserable.”

I rolled my eyes “You don’t know anything.”

“Really?” Milan walked closer to me. “I know that you are happier when you are getting along with Tyler, or when you are with him.” I couldn’t look him in the eyes anymore, however he continued on. “Lauren you care about Tyler and I know that you are angry with him but don’t stay mad at him forever. Don’t forget that he’s hurting too.”

I let out a low sigh and looked up at Milan. He grabbed his coat and motioned towards Nathan to get going. Nathan nodded and stood up, as they both got ready leave, Milan stopped and looked back at me. “If you choose to live miserably for the rest of your life, then that is your choice.”

Milan and Nathan left the room and I just sighed and looked up in the mirror. Milan was right and my brother was right, however I continue to deny that they’re right. I closed my eyes and exhaled slowly.

I stood at the end of the tunnel, debating whether or not I should walk to the rink.

“Just do it Lauren.”

Slowly I walked up the tunnel and as I did, I turned towards the bench and of course Tyler was there. A smile crept across his face as he saw me.

“Lauren, you came.”

“I’m only here because you donated forty-five thousand dollars to the charity, and that is the only reason I came.”

Tyler fixed his suit “Still the same Lauren with the same attitude problem.”

“Really? In a second I’m going to change my mind and walk out of here.”

“No, no, no!” Tyler said as he ran in front of me “I was just kidding. Please don’t leave.”
