I looked down at my watch for the millionth time. “He said he’d be here.” I whispered to myself.
The horn of the bus began to honk; I turned around and saw Horton sticking his head out the window. “Come on Army! We got to go!”
“Alright!” I sighed and grabbed my suitcase as I walked onto our travel bus.
Once on all the guys screamed “Finally!”
I narrowed my eyes at them “Oh hush.” I said as I place my luggage on the overhead above my seat. Once secure I took my seat next to the window, hopping to see John out there.
“Next stop Raleigh, North Carolina!” The driver shouted over the intercom, causing the guys to hoot and shout in approval.
The bus began to leave the parking lot and I turned my head to look back at my Iphone as I texted John. Why didn’t you say goodbye to me?
I placed my cell back into my pocket before resting my head back and closing my eyes.
A few minutes after resting my eyes I felt someone scream in my ear which caused me to jump up from my seat. I turned around and saw Tyler laughing his butt off.
“TYLER!!!!” I yelled as I hit him on the shoulder. Tyler fell back in his seat laughing even harder this time.
“No fighting on the bus!” Coach called from up front.
Finally Tyler controlled his laughter. “Man you are funny. You made me laugh so hard I’m crying.”
“What are you four?”
“No more like seven.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at his response. “You are such a loser. Why are you bothering me?”
“Because I’m bored.” He said as he sat in the empty seat next to me.
“Then take a nap.”
Tyler shook his head “Can’t. I’m not sleepy.”
“Well try to tak-“ But I was cut off by the sound of my phone. I looked down and saw that I got a text from John.
J: WTF! Y r you texting me when u know I have practice? What r u trying 2 get me in trouble?
L: No I would never do that. Plus u told me that u were going 2 say goodbye @ the arena.
J: No I didn’t.
L: Yea u did.
J: No I didn’t. Man u keep pissing me off.
L: Y r u acting like this?
J: I got 2 go. We’ll talk later.
I shoved my phone in my pocket and a tear rolled down the side of my face before I wiped it away.
“Hey.” Tyler placed a hand on my shoulder “Are you alright?”
I sniffled and nodded my head “Yeah I-I’m fine.” I stood up from my seat “I’m just going to go to the bathroom.”
Tyler watched as Lauren walked away and he let out a grunt of frustration. “Somebody is upset.” Horton said as he sat in Lauren’s seat.
“I’m not upset. I just hate seeing my teammate down like this.”
Horton nodded “Eh. But can’t you see that you are being a little too friendly with her lately?”
