Tali's Request

Chapter 12

"We were getting ready to leave the house. We were in Tali's room when an explosion went off. Immediately I smelled smoke, so I grabbed Tali and ran". Ziva explained.

The two of them were sitting close together on Tony's couch in his appartment. Tony's arms were wrapped around Ziva, comforting her as she told him what had happened that day.

"I also took her go-bag with me. It held too many memories that I didn't want to leave behind for it to get destroyed. I was buckling Tali in her car seat when she cried and screamed for the picture of you on her nightstand. I looked back at my house and saw that almost half of it was engulfed in flames. I took my chance. I ran back into the house".

Ziva shuddered, and Tony placed a kiss on the top of her head.

"By that time, I heard sirens and assumed it was Mossad. Mossad knows everything". She said with a chuckle. "I almost reached Tali's room when I heard the house creaking and groaning. I knew it was about to collapse on me, so I broke a window, and jumped out".

Tony rubbed her arm in comfort.

"It was the only way out". She explained. "The fire blocked the front door and the back door access. The only way out, was out the window".

Tony kissed her again on the top of her head.

"I ran. I ran as fast as I could. But I think the smoke got to me because the next thing I know, I'm lying on the ground by the orange grove, covered in ash. I look back at my house, and saw that it was reduced to nothing but smithereens. I yelled out for Tali. I searched for her. But I never found her".

"Then how did you know to come here?" Tony asked.

"I figured since Mossad had her, they would send her to you. I was right".

"I'm just glad you and Tali are alright". Tony said, pulling Ziva tightly into his side.

"Me too, Tony". Ziva said softly. "I'm glad we are finally together".

Meanwhile at Gibbs' house, Abby and McGee put on the Disney movie 'Frozen' for Tali. The song "Let it Go" was playing, and Tali was twirling around, and pretending she had magical ice powers.

"La'azov! La'azov!" Tali sang loudly as she twirled around. "La la, la la laaaa!" She sang instead of the actual lyrics because she didn't remember them.

From his couch, Gibbs laughed as she watched his granddaughter jump around and spin.

"Sssssh". Tali made sound effects as she pretended to use her magical powers to create ice glaciers in the living room.

Just then, Tony and Ziva walked into Gibbs' home. "We're back". Tony announced.

They heard the TV on in the living room, and recognized Tali's voice singing on the top of her lungs.

"Shalom Tali!" Ziva shouted to her daughter.

"IMA!!!" Tali yelled excitedly. She ran over to her mother and hugged her around her legs.

"Uff, Tali". Ziva groaned at the surprising force of Tali's hug. "You hug just like Aunt Abby".

Gibbs, Abby, and McGee all came over to greet Tony and Ziva.

"And we went shopping for some new clothes and hair accessories". Abby said, telling Tony and Ziva everything Tali and her did. "Uncle McGee made Tali a snack before naptime, and then Grandpa Gibbs put on 'Frozen' for her".

"I hope you behaved yourself". Ziva said, talking to Tali. "And said 'please' and 'thank you' ". 

"Oh she was wonderful" McGee praised. "She cried a little when we made her take a nap. But after Grandpa Gibbs read her a story, she went to sleep right away".

Ziva thanked them all gratefully, and they all said their goodbyes.

"Come by soon!" Abby yelled after the three of them, as they made their way to Tony's car. "I want to spend more time with my niece!"

They all waved goodbye, as Tony drove back home. Ziva rolled down the window for Tali, and she blew kisses to Abby, McGee, and Gibbs as they drove away.
