I know you were drinking last night.
How foolish of you
to think any measure of alcohol
any carefully wrapped cigarette
any well-meaning friend
can stamp me out of your mind.
Oh honey, trust me, I've tried everything.
I have melted off my thoughts of you
with burning hot candle wax,
flown across mountains and rivers
just to escape you.
It only works in the moment,
the next, you are back.
Isn't that right?
