I realized just now
it is your birthday
We spoke of our future together
this time last year
Now your energy has shifted
It is stormy, cloudy, gray
I am drawn away from it
and into the light
You once were my light
but now you are darkness
I am learning that
it is me who is light
I outshine you
You do not exist any longer
and so today is not your birthday
Today is my homecoming
Today is my baptism
Today is when I realize
I am finally free
