What I don't tell you is
how much you really mean to me
how much I deeply am in love with you
how much I need you when I startle awake
at three in the morning
calling your name
how every time someone who matches your figure
passes me by
I pray it's you
how when you leave me
you leave with a piece of me
how when I close my eyes
your face is burned behind my lids
how much I write about you
how much I sing about you
What I don't tell you is
I fear every night
you will leave me for something better
that you'll take your pick
and leave me behind
that everything we are
means nothing to you
that your "I love you"s
are empty promises
that your "forever"s
are meant to be broken
that my worries
are not empty
that you're already planning your leave
and I'll be reduced to
nothing
