I never knew the day would come when my parents found dead when I got home from school I remember the day clearly cause it haunts me in my sleep it was a rainy dreary type day I got up at 6:30 in the morning so I could get ready for school I hope in the shower soon as I woke up so I had enough time to put my make up on and put on my favorite band t shirt on which is my disturbed shirt on with my black skinny jeans I ran down to eat with my family my mom Karen and my dad John I was the only child which didn't bother me at all. "Good morning sweetie" said my dad as he kissed the top of my head "good morning daddy" I say eating a bowl of cereal that my mom fixed me "any plans after school today baby" mom asked "I don't think so why mommy" I asked I smiled thinking about how lucky I am to have an amazing family.

Chapter 1

I heard a honk I jumped up kissing my mom on the cheek as I kiss my dad on the cheek also "I love you mommy and daddy."

" We love you too babygirl" as I hugged my best friend Jazzy I smiled at her "what's up Emma "said Jazzy "not ready for school I can tell you that "I said I turn some heavy metal on and start jamming out as me and Jazzy start singing along me and Jazzy have been best friends since we were little. On the way to school we went to pick up Miles which by the way is our gay best friend that we love dearly we all have so much together. We went to get to the gas station to get a couple of cigarettes Miles smokes but not as much as me and Jazzy we all went in Jazzy got 5 packs of cigarettes me and Miles got a couple of bottles of orange juice for me and Miles and Jazzy then we were headed for school as soon as we got to school we parked to the end of the parking lot it started to rain which I love when it rains everyone else was running and screaming cause their hair was ruined and their makeup was smearing I really didn't care. I walked out the door putting my hoodie on as I put my headphones on some heavy music on that I like and headed to my locker to get my books for my first period class which is English with Mr. Mayes which he is my favorite cause he doesn't care if I listen to my music. And I was the first one there so I got to choose my seat so I chose a desk in the back of the class even though the bell hasn't run yet so I had enough to put my music on shuffle as soon as I put my phone in my pocket the bell rung everyone starting coming in and there was this cute guy came in I never seen him before so I am guessing he's new he gave the slip to Mr. Mayes he signed it and told him to find a seat as he turned around we met eyes I seen what he seen and all the chairs were full but there was a seat right beside me which he walked that way towards me I put my head back down on the desk turning up my music as Mr. Mayes started talking about the lesson about I also could tell the new guy James was starting at me but I kept my head down I turned my music down a little so I could hear Mr. Mayes saying that homework tonight you have to do the vocabulary and write the definition which is really easy. I looked at the James guy he looked at me and smiled and wrote a note to me saying hey I'm James what's your name I scribbled my name I'm Emma handed back to him all he did is smile that crooked smile that shows his perfect white smile as he wrote quickly it's nice to meet you I smiled at I wrote likewise and handed it back to him he wrote what class do you have after this I said computer design with Mrs. Williams he smiled as he wrote me too. I whispered so no one heard us "can I see your schedule" he gave it to me as he handed it to me he hand was cold but he smiled it looked like we had every class together so we would be seeing a lot of each other he smiled again which it made my heart skip a beat then the bell rung I gave him is schedule back and headed outside for Jazzy and Miles they came out of biology the James guy waited my his locker which was by me and Jazzy and Miles and Jazzy said "who is that" I smiled saying "that's James he's in all of my classes this semester and he has our lunch period" she looked at me "well he's freaking hot and he keeps staring at you Em" she said we all headed to our second period me and James walked together when everyone stared cause I am not popular everyone at school seem that they are scared of me cause all I wear is black and this guy is wearing dark skinny jeans with black boots and a navy blue button up shirt. We arrived at computer design and sat by each other which I get this tingly feeling when are hands accidently touch we both smile as we get our work done and we showed Mrs. Williams she told us to be quiet so everyone else could get done so we wrote notes as in my notepad he asked from if I was the only child to have if I ever been to a disturbed concert cause he seen my shirt we had smiled as we got to know each other he even asked me why didn't I have a boyfriend and I told him that everyone thinks I'm scary so I guess that's a good thing then he said you don't scare me then I said yet then he looked into my eyes saying you will never scare me. I smiled then the rest of the day went by a blur soon school was over the day which I was glad that it was over I got a call on my phone from my aunt Ashley saying that my parents died in a car accident died on impact. I was so upset I spent the night at Jazzy's she helped me though it all it was fun cause Miles was there Jazzy's family was my second family and they loved me and Miles which was awesome we all stayed up late and ate pizza and watched tv. Then I woke up early looking outside as the rain fell went outside and smoked a cigarette I seen James walking in the rain I went over there saying "why are you at here it's raining" he said "I had to go for a walk to clear my head I do that a lot" "oh I am sorry I'll go" I said as I was about walk away he grabbed my hand and said "no its okay walk with me I couldn't say no to that face with his black hair over his left eye I smiled and said "okay do you want a cigarette" " sure" patting my pants remembering that I only have the one I have been smoking on saying "I forgot my pack at Jazzy's so I only have this one if that's okay if not I can go back at Jazzy's to get another one" he took it out of my hand took a poof and handed it back to me smiling "I don't mind'' he said smiling.

Chapter 2

We talked for a while as we shared the cigarette I told him that yesterday when I got home my parents died in a car accident killing them on impact he said that he was so sorry and last year at the same time he lost his uncle the same way so we had somethings in common before we went our separate ways he asked for my cell phone number as we walked back where we were before as we exchanged numbers then we went our separate ways as I walked back inside being quiet. I went to go take another shower I had to be really quiet cause everyone else was still asleep I had a stupid smile on my face having flash backs of him smiling which makes me smile like an idiot I got out of the shower Jazzy came in it looks like she just woke up rubbing her eyes saying "you're up early" yeah I went outside smoked a cigarette as I went for a walk. Rachel was in the kitchen in the process of making breakfast for everyone as soon as her husband came in saying "good morning my three favorite girls" Joe said we all smiled as he sat at the table drinking his coffee and reading the paper like my dad was doing yesterday before I left it brought a painful memory but I shook it off before he kissed all three of us on the cheek I was a member of this family they told me that from the beginning. We all ate and got dressed me and Jazzy and Miles left as we went to school I was sitting in the backseat while Miles and Jazzy was in the front seat I got a text from James saying "thank you for walking with me this morning it took my mind of things" I said "anytime I enjoyed it too" smiling that one knew about us so I am hoping to keep it under the DL (which mean on the down low) I will tell Jazzy if it gets more serious and Miles too. We arrived at school early if didn't bother me I told them that I will see you later I am going to the library to get a book I blew them kisses I walked into the library looking into the fiction section seeing James looked up from his book meeting my eyes smiling we were the only ones in the library despite the librarian me and James were the only ones in the back of the library he walked closer to me
