“I still don’t see why we hang out with them,” My sister Margaret complained as she continued fixing my hair. “The son and father are complete asses. It’s only Mrs. Malfoy who’s decent enough.”

I sighed. “Well, at least you don’t have to deal with Draco anymore. You’ve already graduated Hogwarts.”

“So? Where does that leave you, then, Sandra?”

 “…With him?”

“Which is why I’m still worried. You know how much he likes to pick on you.”

I couldn’t deny that; it was true. Ever since our first year at Hogwarts, he loved picking on me. Then again, it was partially my fault since I never fought back. Why?

 …Er, well…

This is awkward to say, but – I sorta, kinda, possibly have a crush on him.

 …What?

Don’t look at me like that! Shut up… I’m not really sure why, though. It… it just happened. And for some reason, I’m stupid enough to think it was funny how he laughed at my faults and always criticized me for being too much of a bookworm. Of course, he’d apologize eventually and make up for it. Or, he usually does.

Lately, he’s been preoccupied with his girlfriend, Pansy Parkinson. They got together sometime at the end of last year; they formed a bullying duo and harassed me since then. My crush on him was still there; I was just dying a little inside. I mean, of all the girls he could’ve picked from, it had to be that snotty-nosed, pug-faced pratt of a girl Parkinson…

Oh well. Whatever; so long as he’s happy, right?

Besides, everyone has these outcast, bad-boy archetype crushes, don’t they? It was normal.

I think…

There was a knock on the door, but Mum poked her head in without waiting for a response. She almost died happy when she saw us. “Oh my goodness-! You both look amazing!” she gushed.

Margaret smiled, finished curling my hair and stepped away so I could stand up. We were both in jeans; Margaret in a plain black shirt and I in a slightly-frilled white blouse. For some reason, I felt like they were trying to set me up with Draco but…that was just the little hopeful voice in my head talking. My parents knew about him picking on me and wouldn’t do that.

Mum hugged Margaret, congratulating her on what a good job she did fixing me up and hugged me carefully. I guess it’s because she was afraid of ruining the prettiness.

“Now go downstairs,” she said, motioning for the door. “The Malfoys should be here any minute now. We were hoping you could entertain Draco while your dad and his talk some things over. Okay?”

Margaret snorted and narrowed her eyes. “Entertain that little thing? Right. Just give him a mirror and he’ll entertain himself.”

I tried not to laugh while Mum glared at her – partially. It looked like half her face was trying to stay angry, while the other was forcing down a laugh. Usually Margaret exaggerated a lot of things, but this time it was actually true.
