Veronica's POV
"Roni, can I talk to you... Alone?" Collins said,looking down, his face turning red all of a sudden.
I cautiously looked at him and nodded my head, signalling for Nessa to go to her next class first.
"So... We've been friends for many years now and I feel this tingling sensation whenever I'm with you. You make me feel so happy. I know that you're probably not looking for a boyfriend right now but I'm afraid that I might be too late when the time comes. Hope we can still remain friends..." Collins stammered, his face red.
My mouth hung and I stared at him. Looking at my shocked face, he opened his mouth but no words came out. I was not sure whether to nod my head or say something. Sensing my awkwardness, he silently sauntered away but I grabbed his hand.
"I like you too." I replied, not wanting to use the word "love".
He smiled and nodded his head. Wasn't he going to ask me out? I was probably getting my hopes up too high. Breaking the awkwardness of this situation, I rushed to my next class.
