Chapter 15

Vanessa's POV
Roni has been in the operation room for hours already. Nurses had been going in and out but they refuse to tell us what is wrong. Finally, the doctor walked out.
"Mr and Mrs Merrell?" The doctor said, reading out from his clipboard," Veronica Merrell is now in a stable condition but we would need her to stay in the hospital for a few more weeks due to several health checks. You may visit her now and she will be transferred to a room."
We thanked the doctor profusely and went to Roni's room. It was spacious and the window had a nice view. The nurses wheeled Roni into the room. She was still fast asleep so we decided to order some food to bring up to eat. Collins offered to stay back and accompany Roni.

Collins' POV
I clutched Roni's hands tightly and looked at her. That peaceful sleeping face. I could never get enough of it. Unable to contain it, I leaned over and kiss her. I brushed the hair off her face. Just then, my phone rang. I answered it.
"Hey man, we got everything settled. The cops came and took our statement and it turns out that Sideous is actually called Sid and he is actually a crazy fan." My friend, Jack, informed me.
I thanked him profusely and hung up. I was just glad that everything was alright.
"Collins?"
I looked up and saw Roni looking at me through her sides. I smiled and walked up to her.
"Hey my girl." I smiled and walked up to her.
"What happened?"
"Nothing. You just slipped down the stairs and knocked your head." I lied, remembering what the doctor said about not agitating her.
"Oh. Clumsy me." She mumbled.
Roni beckoned for me to lie next to her and we decided to watch "Haters Back Off" on Netflix while we waited for the others to buy food. It was probably due to my exhaustion, I fell asleep halfway through the movie. I had my arms wrapped around Roni as I slept.

Veronica's POV
"Haters Back Off" was so good! Nessa and I met Colleen Ballinger, the person behind Miranda Sings, before and she was so sweet! I feel like Youtubers are getting more recognition which makes me very happy to be part of such an awesome community. The series was such an awesome one! I turned to look at Collins to find him fast asleep. Just then, his phone rang. I decided to help him pick up his phone and I answered it.
Before I could say anything, the person at the other end said," Hey Collins, come to the police station now. The cops needs to take your statement."
Did Collins do anything wrong? I was worried sick. I immediately hung up and was deep in thought. Just then, the door opened and Nessa peeked in. She gave me a big hug and pass me my food. It was some porridge as the doctor had advised me to eat light.
"Why do the cops need to take Collins' statement?" I asked, snapping out of my train of thoughts.
"Oh you were kidnapped and Collins asked his friends to save you. That's probably why the police needs to take his statement." Nessa said before her eyes opened and she shut her mouth.
"He said I fell down the stairs! Why would he lie to me?" I yelled." Why! Does he think that he can protect me from everything in the world? I have the right to know what happened to me! How can I trust him now?! If he lies to me, then how am I suppose to know whether he is lying or not in the future!?"
"Roni, calm down! He did that for your own good!" Nessa said, patting my shoulder.
Collins stirred. His eyes opened and he stared wide-eyed at all of the drama unfolding. He slowly stood up, a confused look written all over his face.
"You are needed at the police station." I said coldly,"And we're breaking up."
