Tomorrow is the first day.

I never been this nervous in life.

After the talk I had with Granny, she told my dad not to come. I ended up apologizing because I was really disrespectful.

I'm in bed thinking about a whole bunch of stuff.

Like, how will my 9th grade year will be and if my mom is still with my "stepdad". I looked over at the clock on my nightstand, it read 12:32 a.m.

Then 12:33 a.m.

Then 12:34 a.m.

I'm going to be an outcast. Everyone is going to hate me.

I can't sleep because it's too much going on in my head.

I just got up and went downstairs for a warm glass of milk. Hopefully, that will help me sleep.

As I went to the refrigerator, I heard the t.v. in the living room, and Granny was watching it.

"What are you doing down here Cam Cam?" Granny said, sitting up from the couch.

"I couldn't sleep. So, I came down here for some milk."

"Why you can't sleep? Aren't you excited for high school?"

"No, not really."

"Freshman year is the best."

"Maybe for you. You knew everyone. I know no one" I said, with a little sadness in my voice.

"Actually, I didn't start off with friends. Sit down and let me tell you this story." She said, patting on the seat next to her.

Look what I then started. I thought.

"I guess" I singed.

"Okay, so the first day of 9th grade, I rode the bus."

I was already starting to doze off.

"I was as nervous as you are now. There were no seats in the front of the bus, so I had to go to the back. Only one girl was sitting by herself and that was Mariah."

Mariah is my Grannys' best friend. I never knew they met in high school.

"She said I could sit with her, so I did." said Granny as she continued with the story.

"Mariah was asking me all types of questions like, how old I was and where I was from. I told her I was new to the whole city."

"And I'm guessing that's when you guys became besties." I said with an attitude.

"And you guessed correctly. Shh, let me finish the story. We got to school and I went to my first hour and guess who was there?"

"MARIAH!" I yelled in a childish way.

"Exactly! She introduced me to her friends and her friends introduced me to their friends. By the end of the day, people knew more about me then I did." Granny said with a little chuckle.

"So you're telling me to find one friend then let them introduce me to their friends?"

"Not exactly, just be nice and social."

"Well that's going to be really hard because I have an attitude problem. Remember the therapist said I'm this close to having a bipolar disorder." I said, making my fingers little.

"Uhh, yes I remember. You should work on that."

"Hmm, we will see." I said, yawning.

"Well, I'm going to bed. Goodnight Granny."

"Goodnight Cam Cam."
