Chapter 13 ~ Meet the new me

Myles POV 

I'm walking with Briar and the kids and Sydney pulls a lighter out of my pocket

"Mommy what's this?" Sydney asks confused. Briar Stares at me and Sydney grabs the packet of cigarettes out of my pocket "Mommy what's this?" Sydney asks again. Briar stares at me in shock.

"Sydney give them back to daddy and come and hold your sisters hand," Briar says and Sydney hands them to me and grabs Niamh's hand and walks off. 

"Sorry daddy," Sydney shouts and then they walk faster away from me

"Briar," I shout.

"What Myles?" She says angrily turning around.

"What's wrong?" I ask slightly confused and I walk up to her

"Do you think I expected my child find a packet of cigarettes on her father?" She asks 

"Well no but..." I say

"Myles I thought you were different." Briar says and turns around I see he pull her phone out of her pocket and call someone to pick her up. I walk over to her

"Briar let me take you out tonight, just the two of us." I say 

"No Myles I'm staying with my daughters and we're having a party for Sydney's birthday." I say staring into Myles eyes. I start tearing up all these old feelings I had for him are coming back. He leans in and kisses me, I kiss back and then pull away and Sydney just stares at me.

"Mommy will daddy be at my party?" Sydney asks

"Do you want him to be?" Briar asks

"Yes," Sydney says and grabs my hand and walks with me with Briar by her side. Briar gets a piece of paper out her pocket and hands me a note with the address and phone number on

I walk Briar to her nans car and then she goes and I walk home.

I text Briar

M- Hey, I'm sorry about the whole cigarette thing MYLES

B- It's fine, I haven't touched one in years and sorta brings back bad memories that's all

M- we really need to have a serious convo about what's going to happen with Sydney

B- K see you soon

2 hours later

Briars POV

I hear a knock on the door, Sydney answers in and all I hear is he shouting daddy. I walk downstairs. Wow Myles was wearing a tuxedo (a suit) he looked cute. I walk up to him and give him a friendly hug. 

"Woah you made an effort, it's only your daughters 6th birthday," I laugh

"Well actually I talked to your nan and I arranged a meal at that restaurant you always said you wanted to visit when you were 17. So me Syd, Niamh and you will be going so we leave in 30 mins." Myles says and taps his watch.

I walk upstairs with Niamh and Sydney and get myself and them changed, the restaurant was extremely posh and very expensive.

Niamh wore

Sydney wore

And I wore

"Wow you all look gorgeous," Myles said and I smiled we walked out the house and to the taxi Myles had booked. When we were all in the taxi I asked Myles

"Myles, why are you taking us to the most expensive place in town?" 

"Because it's My little girls birthday and I think my girlfriend, daughter and step-daughter deserve a night out." Myles says, Girlfriend, Step-daughter? What?

"Myles What?" I ask slightly confused but I don't mind I think I've fallen in love with him again

"Briar you will see," he replies

When we arrive at the restaurant I order our meals and the waiter brings us a bottle of champagne between me and Myles. When we finish our meals the lights dim and the room goes silent. The waiter walks up to me with a slice of chocolate fudge cake with a beautiful ring on the top. I look slightly confused and then the waiter brings Sydney a plate with chocolate sauce on saying "Mommy, will you marry daddy?" I look to where Myles was sitting but he want there instead he was kneeled next to me on one knee

"Briar will you marry me?" He asked looking worried. 6 years I haven't seen him but I'm prepared to marry him completely. I start getting watery eyed and I nod "Yes Myles, yes I will marry you," I cry. I'm going to be the new Mrs Erlick ☺️
