“What are you doing here General Aigle? I thought we had a deal?” Mary said quite annoyed at the situation. “Queen Mary. I need you to deal with this situation as a queen and not as businesswoman.” General Aigle said. “What situation?” General Mckenzie asked. “This.” Aigle said pointing to the English Ambassador. “Queen Mary. I beg you. Please. Don’t remove me from my job. I love my job.” The ambassador said handing Mary an envelop. Mary opened the envelop and saw the signet ring of the rulers of England. Mary was shocked. Francis saw Mary’s reaction and held her, he saw what’s inside the envelop and console Mary. ‘Is she dead?’ That’s what kept running in her mind. “Is she?” Mary asked and doesn’t know how to end her sentence. Tears form in her eyes. “No. She’s here. In the carriage out front.” The ambassador said. “Thank you Nicholas.”Mary said with relief. “You can do this.” Francis whispered in her ear and she smiled. Mary walked towards the carriage. “Is she gonna be fine?” Catherine asked. “Yes Mother. Just trust her.” “I do. I’m just worried.” “Don’t. She’s strong and stubborn. She has a will of a Scot. She’ll be fine.” Francis assured her mother. “Wait. You know what’s going on?” Henry asked Francis. “Not particularly, but in general yes. And No father, I’m not telling you. It’s not my news to tell.”

Mary reached the carriage. It was opened for her. She entered the carriage. “I’m not dead. I know that’s what you thought.” “It was. But why did you give me the seal?” “Mary. You said in your last letter that you don’t know if you could rule England. So here it is, be the queen of England for a couple of months. Rule it from here. It’s a good thing we both have the same name.” “But, is it wise to do that?” “Just try.” “How about Elizabeth?” “She doesn’t want this. All she wanted was respect. And she shall have it.” She nodded and left the carriage. Mary walked back to the great hall. She then spoke directly to Sir Nicholas. “I will be having a meeting tomorrow with Ambassador Adin and Sir Marcus at 2 in the afternoon. You can join us then. Do you have anything else for me?” “Yes.” He handed scrolls to Mary. “Sir Nicholas. Don’t be late!” She said that and left. Francis followed her.

They reached Mary’s chambers upon entering Mary dropped the scrolls on the floor and buried herself to Francis’ chest. Francis consoled her. “It’s alright.” “She wants me to rule over England from here for a couple of months.” “You’ve done it with Scotland. You can do this love.” “You will not leave me? I mean you wouldn’t distance yourself even if I become cranky and moody and all?” “I won’t.” Francis kissed her forehead. “You should rest now Mary.” “I can’t yet. I have to finish this.” Mary said while picking up the scroll. Francis then asked for tea from the maid standing outside. “Well then, we will stay up together.” Mary smiled at Francis. “Thank you.” She muttered.
