Francis and Mary reached the Chateau de Versailles after long hours of traveling. “Good day Your Highnesses. I hope you traveled safely. I am Lady Simone, I was assigned here by Queen Catherine to keep this Chateau intact.” Lady Simone said. “Nice to meet you Lady Simone.” Mary said. “They will show you to your rooms.” Lady Simone said gesturing to the maids. “Rooms?” Francis asked. “Yes Your grace, the dauphin’s quarters are at the west wing and the dauphine’s quarters are at the east.” Lady Simone said. “I know that, but it’s our honeymoon. And what made you think I wouldn’t want to stay at the same room as my wife.” Francis said in a firm tone. Mary then soothed Francis. “Lady Simone, I noticed that there’s a very nice field of flowers, is there a chamber that would give a good view of that?” Mary asked calmly. Lady Simone cannot believe the beauty the queen radiates. She’s glowing. No wonder the dauphin is enamored by her. “There is my queen. It is located at the south wing, although the best view can be obtained in a simple chamber.” “Can you get that ready? The dauphin and I are staying there.” “The both of you?” Francis then spoke again. “Yes. And if ever you visit the French court, we will still be staying at the same chamber and sleeping at the same bed. Because she is my wife and the love of my life!” Mary smiled at how Francis said those words. Lady Simone curtsied and the maid whispered to each other.
“Let’s go for a walk?” Francis asked Mary and she nodded. “You were ill tempered.” Mary said. “I know.” “You shouldn’t expect them to understand easily that we two are more than an alliance.” “We love each other.” Then Mary found a shooting range. “Francy. Look can we shoot arrows, I miss shooting.” “Sure.” Mary squealed at excitement. “Don’t laugh if I don’t hit the target it’s been years.” “I won’t.” Francis kissed her forehead. Mary then picked up the bow and arrow and aim. She breathes in and released the arrow as she breathes out. And there the arrow swiftly hit the bull’s eye. “Shrimp, are you sure you lived in the convent? Or did you just wander in the woods. Because that my love is not how a rust shooter shoots.” Francis felt proud of his wife.
“Your highnesses, your room is ready.” Lady Simone said. “Thank you. And I’m sorry about a while ago.” Francis said. And Lady Simone curtsied leading the way to their chamber. “I’ll leave you two.” Then Lady Simone left.
“What should we do now?” Francis asked smirking as he was removing his boots and when he looked at Mary, she was already undressing, Francis attacked her wife with kisses and they made love several times that night and every day and night of their stay at Versailles.
It’s been a month and they were about to leave when Mary suddenly fainted. Francis rushed to her aide and demanded a physician.
Mary woke up even before the physician came.“Mary love?” “I’m fine Francy, remember, I’m pregnant. I guess this is normal.”
They heard a knock and the physician entered. He bowed and went to ask questions when Francis cut him off. “Is it normal? She’s pregnant. Is the fainting normal?” “So my inquiry was right, but you were just married for a month.” The physician asked. “Yes, we were a month pregnant when we got married, the midwife at the court said that the baby is so strong that’s why she fainted to before, and we were just two weeks back then.” Francis said. “Hm. She’s right. My queen, you shouldn’t tire yourself by sitting so long. You can stand and walk and lie down, but sitting stresses you, you can sit in the bed but with pillows at your back.” The physician said. “Wait, I can’t sit on a chair?”Mary asked confused. “You can, but not too long, stand and walk around.” He said. “You, you’re Alyssa, right? Can you call my pager Neil?” Alyssa smiled as the queen knew her name and called Neil outside. Francis knew exactly what Mary was thinking so he was the one who ordered Neil. “Neil, send a messenger to the French Court.” Francis then walked to their desk and wrote a short message. And then he sealed it, then he made another and sealed it. “Mary I need your seal in the other letter, it is for Sir Marcus.” Mary then sealed it. "Tell the messenger to give this single sealed letter to my Father and the double sealed letter to Sir Marcus. Neil bowed and left, the physician did that too. “How long Francy?” “I told them that it will not be good for you and that they can announce your pregnancy even if we’re not there. I told them we’ll extend for at least a month.” Mary smiled. “Francy? What did you tell Marcus?” “That he can go here so that we can function as rulers of Scotland.” Mary looked at Francis with total admiration. “Mary, rest. Please.” “Only if you’ll rest with me.” And so they did.
The French court received their letter and couldn’t be more proud that they’re thinking responsibly. A gala was held in honor of Mary’s pregnancy and the whole France heard that another successor is on its way.
