It’s the night of the festivity to welcome Spain. Mary and Francis was walking hand in hand on their way to the throne room. Mary was wearing beige puffed skirt with details that would seem she’s wearing feathers and beige laced top with details that played around in her chest. Francis was wearing a beige coat with gold details to match up her Mary’s gown.

“You look lovely.” Francis said. “You don’t look bad yourself.” Mary said touching his chest. When suddenly Mary’s grip became tight and she fainted. Francis caught him and rushed her to the infirmary. It was dinner time for the servants and so the only one present in the infirmary was Nostradamus and a midwife, Agnes. “What happened Your grace?” Nostradamus said gesturing for Francis to put Mary on the bed. “She fainted. We were walking and she fainted. Actually she was quite pale for the past week and always not satisfied with food, she’s always hungry. And sometimes for the past week, she eats a lot of pork and she normally dislikes them. And now this? Is she sick? Am I making her sick?” Francis rambled then he noticed that Nostradamus and Agnes exchanged a strange and concerned look. “I think you should be the one checking her.” Nostradamus said to Agnes. Agnes felt the queen’s pulse and her eyes widened. Then she spoke. “Prince Francis, I need you to be honest with me, usually I would be asking series of question to the queen but she hasn’t woken up yet, so I just needed to know. Have you slept with her?” Francis was shocked with the question and saw Agnes’ face turn a little red at her question to the dauphin. “Yes. And you should keep it a secret. Please. We can’t help it, I mean..” “You don’t have to explain, it happens. But the thing is you can’t hide it anymore, in a few months, she will be showing the fruit of your love.” Agnes said smiling. “And don’t worry, I will certainly not tell. The queen has helped my mother before when the queen was still a child. I owe her.” She added. Francis smiled on the thought of him, Mary and their baby then suddenly he looked a Nostradamus. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell, your mother will have my head if I do so. But you have to be careful. The woman in a black cloak is still not found.” “I know.” Francis said, then he noticed that Mary is about to wake up. “You’re awake. And you’re alright.” Francis said then kissing her hand. “What happened?” Mary asked. “We’re pregnant!” Francis said beaming. “What? How is that possible. Of course I know how it is, but are you sure? I don’t want to get our hopes up then suddenly it’s just a phantom feeling.” Mary finished her rant. “You are my queen. But can you release your liquid? That’s a better way to confirm it.” Agnes said. “Yes. Where?” Agnes pointed out in a bathroom and she released her liquid in the pot. Agnes mixed some liquid into a concoction and she smiled and said. “My queen, when was your last course?” “It should’ve arrived a week ago.” “My queen, I can assure you, you are really pregnant. Maybe a week or two.” Mary sat up suddenly and hugged Francis and they felt that this was their happiest moment since the day of Mary’s return. “Let’s go. We have to make an appearance.” Mary told Francis. “As long as your alright.” “I am.”

The gala already started when they entered. Catherine reprimanded them of their tardiness and Francis explained that Mary fainted but didn’t brought up the detail that she’s pregnant.

“Everyone. Can I have your attention.” King Henry said. “I hope that you enjoyed the festivities Lord Sandoval and may you bring good news to the King of Spain. Also, I hope that you give him this news. As we all know the Queen of Scots already returned to our court for months now. And I think it is time for her to wed the Dauphin of France. You will be receiving the invitations for the wedding when Catherine already decided on a date. But it will definitely be this year. Maybe any week or day now.” King Henry finished. Everyone applaud and everyone can see that Mary and Francis were delighted of the news. “Finally.” Mary said. “We just need to talk to them to marry us the soonest. Although I love our little miracle here, I wouldn’t want them to question your virtue.” “Well if that’s the case, we need to find a way to have some virginal blood on our consummation ritual.” “We can deal with that. But we have to discuss the date. I can’t wait.” “Me too. And I believe I have to talk about the English-French Alliance with your Father, if only his open minded as you.” They danced happily all night and retired to Mary’s chamber. Their at bliss the moment they found out their going to be parents.

A knock suddenly made to Mary’s door, but since they were both tired from their excitement and from all the dancing, they didn’t quite heard it. So the door slightly opened. “Mary, dear. Are you still awake?” Catherine asked. Her eyes widened noticing that Francis was also in the bed. She entered. In a soft but certainly angered tone she said. “Francis! Wake up!” Francis stirred. “What do you think you’re doing? An announcement may have made but you both are certainly not married yet!” Catherine warned him. “Mother! Keep your voice down. Mary needs sleep. You of all people should know that pregnancy can be tiring.” He said in a soft but firm tone then he smiled to his mother. “Pregnant? How?” “Mother do you really need me to explain how?” “No of course not. How long have you been, you know, Oh my goodness, this is awkward, but since when were the two of you engaging to THIS?” Catherine asked awkwardly. “This is really awkward Mother.” “Fine. I’ll just ask Mary tomorrow.” Francis nodded and Catherine stood up from the bed. “Francis, as a queen, ‘How dare you jeopardize the alliance with Scotland!’ But as your mother ‘Congratulations Son! I wish you all the best!’ You two will be married in 2 weeks” “Thank you Mother.” Catherine left the room with a smile plastered in her face. In the room Mary suddenly awaken. “Why are you still awake love?” Mary asked Francis. “Mother was here. She caught me.” He laughed softly. “And I told her not to wake you up because you’re tired from being pregnant.” He added, Mary suddenly sat up. “Don’t worry Love, she’s marrying us in two weeks. Come lie down already and get back to sleep.” They fell into a deep slumber. Very excited of their very bright future.
