Chapter 2

*Abigail's POV*

I convinced Dad that I was safe with North (which took quite a while), and he went home while I stayed there. North let me practically do whatever I wanted as long as I could see the Workshop or was inside it.

So THIS was freedom! It tasted so sweet!

I ran around outside, building snowmen and making snow angels. I hadn't been able to do that when I was younger, so this felt amazing. The cold felt great on my skin.

I sighed in contentment and went inside, intent on helping the yetis make toys, when I saw Baby Teeth flying around. The Tooth Fairy was here! I walked to the main hall and saw her, the Easter Bunny, Sandman, and North all together.

"Where's Jack?" Toothiana asked. "I heard he had a surprise. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not."

I said before anyone else could respond, "Depends on what you think of me."

Everyone turned to look at me. "You look just like him, who are you?" I shook my head. Did Dad really not tell them about me?

"I'm Abigail, Jack's daughter. Can't believe he didn't tell you about me. Well, there's another thing he did to keep me away from the outside world. Can you believe this is the first time I've been away from home?"

They were all shocked. "So, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and Sandman, right? I think all of you have done something for me at some point. And Sandman, there's this boy in Burgess that feels like no one loves him, so when whatever I did wears off he's going to need your help, a lot." He nodded.

With signs appearing above his head, I frowned. "He's telling you to call him Sandy." The Easter Bunny translated.

"Okay."

He hopped forward a few steps and extended his paw to me, which I shook. "Call me Bunny."

"Are you sure? You look more like a kangaroo to me." I joked with a slight serious tone.

He laughed fakely, "Hehe, apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?" I smirked. "Just like Jack."

"Believe it or not, you're not the first to tell me that."

"Kids see you?" The Tooth Fairy asked. "Oh, sorry. I'm Toothiana, but everyone just calls me Tooth."

"Oh. Hi. And no, they don't." I stopped talking as the Baby Teeth noticed me and flew around me, all saying hi and asking questions. Tooth chuckled. "Yes, I brush my teeth. I don't floss every time though. Slow down, I can't understand you." I laughed.

Everyone stared at me then. "What? I can't talk to the Baby Teeth? Each one of them collected one of my teeth." I smiled as one nuzzled against the side of my neck.

"Only Tooth should be able to communicate with them." Bunny said.

I shrugged, not caring how I was able to talk to them. "Apart from talking to myself in a mirror and Dad, these little gals were the only people I could talk to."

"You talked to yourself?"

I smiled. "I did. Dad was often away and I was stuck inside, so there was really nothing else to do."

"I'd think that the daughter of the most mischievous person I know would sneak out."

I laughed. "Oh, I do. Got caught earlier today too. Three years I snuck out. I suppose it was only a matter of time before I got caught." I shrugged.

"Bunny," North said, "get Jamie. I think talking to little fairies may be human thing." I frowned as Bunny left.

"Who's Jamie?" I'd never heard that name before.

"Bennett?" Tooth asked, seeing if his last name would ring a bell. I shook my head. "Jack kept you away from him? That isn't right. Abigail, Jamie is Marisa's father."
