Chapter 25

*Abigail's POV*

"Dad?" I called. He'd been gone for a while, and he left without a word.

As he walked in, Brandon frowned. "He's still not back?"

"No." I gasped out. He shouldn't have been gone so long.

"Hey, calm down." He put his hands on my shoulders and stopped my incessant moving. "He will be back. He's probably just talking to the Guardians and got held up. Besides, he didn't tell us where he was going, which means we don't know what he's doing or how long it will take him."

"No, no. Something's wrong. I know it is. It's the same feeling I got when--when the Workshop was being ripped apart. Brandon, Dad's in trouble." I was talking so fast I could hardly understand myself. "I need to find him, we can bring the Guardians with us." I fumbled for my snow globe.

"Abigail--Abby! Stop!" He chuckled as he stilled my hands and grabbed the snow globe. "Abby, whatever he's doing, he'll be okay. He's fine, Abigail. Calm down. We can go visit North though and see if he's there if that'll make you feel better."

Calming down so I wasn't so hysterical, I nodded. I was extremely and utterly worried though, for one, Dad always told me where he was going. For another, I had a bad gut feeling. My gut feeling was always right. Remember how North says how he knows things? He says that he feels it in his belly. That's what it was like for me, almost.

Brandon took us to the Pole, leaving my snow globe behind on the table. As I realized this when we were over halfway there, Brandon refused to turn around. "Brandon, it's the only way I can get around when I can't fly. Please, please take me back. I need it."

"Not while I'm here. And we're almost there." Sighing, I settled down and understood that he needed me to be calm. "Thank you."

We arrived at the Pole and I dashed up to North. "North, please, please, please tell me Dad's here!"

"No, I haven't seen him all day."

I stood back and felt hot tears rolling down my cheeks. "What is matter?" He asked anxiously.

"Brandon, I told you! I told you Dad's in trouble! And now my snow globe is back at the house and we can't use North's because it only takes you to places, not people. Brandy, Dad's in serious trouble now! We should've gone to help him!"

"Abby, he's going to be fine. I promise." Because I'd begun hitting him, Brandon grabbed my hands and held them still.

"No, he won't." I cried. "I had this feeling about the Workshop and you can clearly see what happened when we waited to act on it."

North stepped up to us. "What feeling?"

"I can tell that something is really wrong." I said after wrenching my hands free. "It's just that--a feeling. It's only happened twice. The night the Workshop was destroyed and now. I could see that it was something to do with the Workshop, but that was it. And now it's dark and it has something to do with Dad. It's scary."

Brandon and North shared a look. They'd all been told of what happened between Pitch and Dad. Wait a minute..."Are--are you telling me that Dad is with Pitch now?" I gasped, my hand coming to my mouth.

"That's right." I spun in shock. Dad's appearance made me scream.

"Oh my gosh." I weeped in fear of the man in front of me. Brandon stood in front of me, or maybe I stood behind him, I couldn't tell who moved. "W--what happened to you?"

Dad...I think he was Dad anyway...smiled. He--he was black. Dark. His hair was like midnight, his clothes pitch black. He had a nasty, sick, psychotic smirk on his face. The only part of him that I actually recognized was his face. His eyes were still ice blue. How did this happen?
