Chapter 21
*Abigail's POV*
Brandon reached the Tooth Palace and I watched, as I always did, with my mouth open. The Baby Teeth were flying to and fro, carrying coins or teeth, chattering excitedly about the children.
Tooth saw us when Brandon landed on the main tower and fluttered over. "Hi, guys!"
"Hi, Tooth." I said with a smile. She looked like she was really enjoying this.
"Come on! I was just about to go to America!" I jumped into the air and caught a breeze, flying after the other two who'd already zoomed off.
Tooth named off places and teeth as we flew, but held off on a lot until we got there. Baby Teeth followed by hundreds.
Once in America, Tooth stayed alongside Sandy as she worked. But it didn't seem like she considered it work. She was smiling and laughing and collecting teeth herself to hand to the Baby Teeth. I didn't know how they knew which tooth came from which kid, but somehow, they could.
Seeing all the sleeping children made me sleepy too, but I stayed with her until we all reached Dylan's house. I went in that house and yawned. Apparently Dylan was a light sleeper.
"Aunt Abby?" He asked, rubbing his eyes sleepily. "What're you doing?"
"You're losing teeth left and right, aren't you, Dylan? I came with the Tooth Fairy again. This time I brought a friend of yours, my brother." I waved Brandon in and he rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "I think you two have met before."
Dylan sat up. "Brandon? You're my uncle?"
"You're smart, Dylan." Brandon sat by him.
"Whoa, cool. Can you come tomorrow too?"
"Tomorrow's your birthday, isn't it?"
He nodded. "You're gonna come, right?"
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it. Now get back to sleep so you're not cranky tomorrow." I chuckled.
"Goodnight, Dylan."
He yawned and laid down, falling asleep immediately. Quietly, I climbed back out the window and flew toward the Tooth Palace. I was ready for sleep myself.
*Jack's POV*
After getting home and seeing that there was no sign of Abigail and Brandon having been there, I flew up to see North. She had come from there, maybe he'd know where she was. I needed to apologize for whatever I'd done to make Brandon so angry at me. I had a feeling it had to do with Abigail.
When I reached the Pole, I stopped dead in my tracks for two seconds before snapping into action. The Workshop was falling apart, I could see beams that had fallen from the ceiling. Yetis were grabbing elves and scrambling out, the elves that weren't picked up were running for their lives, and I saw North had his swords out.
"What's going on?" I asked, trying to take in all the mayhem.
"Pitch. The Nightmares came."
"Before it was Easter, now he's messing with Christmas? North, what are we going to do?"
"We must find a way to get toys to as many kids as we can, apology notes to the rest."
I sighed. Fantastic. "How much time do we have again?"
*Abigail's POV*
I woke in the middle of the night, an unsettled feeling in my gut. Something was amiss.
I got up and padded across the room to Brandon, shaking him. "Brandon?"
"What, Abby?"
"Something's wrong."
