Chapter Ten

We focused on his walk again for a few minutes before I insisted he moved up to trot, his nervousness was clear, as he started holding his breathe I called out to him to remember to breathe, causing him to lightly chuckled as he lapped around me.

Going up into trot, he lost his balance for a moment, making him bring Soldier down to a halt quickly, 'shit sorry' he said, shaking his head at his actions.

'Don't you dare shake your head Sebastian' I called out.

'I seriously can't do this' I heard him whisper more for himself, as he shook his head again.

'Do not even start with that Seb' I said, 'now you're going to take a deep breathe and focus and then walk for half a circle and ask for a trot, I don't care if you lose balance again and again, we are going to get this before you leave'

I know I seemed a little harsh, giving him a bit of a push, but he needed to have the confidence in himself otherwise it would start to become a hopeless case as Soldier could feel the tension and nervousness of the rider on his back.

It took Sebastian a few goes around me before he asked for a trot again, and for a few strides he started rising correctly, losing his balance half way, causing Soldier to come down for a walk again, but without any response from myself, Sebastian pushed him back into a trot, and I could see the determination he had to get this right.

I let him do a few more laps around me, as I watched on I could see Jacob looking over as well, Carol had seemed to understand the aspects of trot, but had also struggled with the balancing aspect as she rose up in the one-two beat of the trot.

Sebastian came back down to a walk and came to a halt next to me, he was slightly out of breath, reminding me of how fit you had to be, to be a rider.

'Well done Seb' I said, reaching over to give Soldier a scratch on his withers.

Jacob and Carol had walked up alongside Sebastian and myself, 'you looked really good Carol' I offered the fellow blonde girl, smiling over at her, she nodded in response, her own breathing clearly trying to catch up with her.

'You did pretty well Sebastian, you'll get that motion of the two beats after you practice a bit ' Jacob said, offering a forced smile to the brunette actor, causing me to get annoyed at Jacob's clear disliking all of a sudden.

In silence the four of us walked back up to the stables, I noticed Sebastian looking a little tense again, and I sighed not knowing what the issue was with Jacob, he had been open and nice towards both actors, but since lunchtime that had changed.

I dismounted quickly, throwing my reins to Alice quickly, as I turned to steady Soldier for Sebastian to dismount, he turned to face me once he was on the ground, ' was I really that bad' he asked.

'No you weren't Seb, I don't know what his problem is, he is probably just feeling overworked or something' I said, trying my best to cover for my colleague. I looked over and saw Seb biting his lip at me. ''What?' I laughed

'You called me Seb' he responded.

My mind ran over my comment, replaying myself saying Seb, I realised I had called him that a few times this afternoon already, ' Is that not alright?'

'No I actually quite like hearing you all me that' he said, reaching out to touch my shoulder,giving it a squeeze, a smile creeping up on my face as I tried to focus on un tacking my gelding.

'Come grab dinner with me tonight' he said.

I hesitated, part of me was screaming at the chance to grab dinner, but on the other hand Jacob's words from earlier ran through my mind, after filming what would become of our relationship, would it end just as quickly as it had started flourishing?

I tried to sort through my thoughts, but my desire to get to know him grew quickly, I nodded not letting the words come from my mouth.

' you're going to have to drive though' he said sheepishly, 'Don't have a car'

'It's ok you also don't know anywhere around here to grab food either ' I laughed, ' I'll take this guy back out to his stall, and then we can drive into town?'

He nodded, 'Have to quickly chat to Terrence, so I'll be back in 20?'

I nodded and we both separated, as I went to walk Soldier out, I heard footsteps come up behind me.

' OMG you and Sebastian, what the heck' I heard Amber exclaim.

'Want to scream a little louder, don't think they heard you on Mars' I said, rolling my eyes at her response. 'We're just going for dinner' i added.

'Just dinner? You two have already had one meal together today and now this is the second, you need to let me fix your make up' she said, eyeing me up and down, 'and you are not wearing your riding gear to dinner with him' she shook her finger towards my clothes.

'Amber no, it's ok, not like I haven't been to dinner before, I'll just ran to my locker, I'm sure I have a pair of jeans and a clean shirt ' I walked past her ,letting Soldier into his stall, slipping the gear off him quickly and then leaving him be, after a quick scratch.

' you're not mad at me right' I asked her, my thoughts running back to when she and Alice has claimed their undying love and support for Sebastian just earlier in the week.

Amber looked at me, then responded ' look not going to say that I won't be a tad jealous, but come on I'm not going to deny you a chance for some happiness either Joss, let's be serious for a few moments, I'm like 10 years younger than the man'

I nodded, 'well thanks for the support'

'Besides you two have some clear chemistry together' she said, ' now let me help you get ready... please' she begged again, holding her hands together in front of her as if she was praying.

I laughed at her antics, 'hurry up then' I held my hands up in defeat, walking toward the office area that had our lockers, I noticed Jacob was heading to the tack room but was looking over at both me and Amber, I smiled towards him, but he just shook his head at me, and I chose from that moment to just ignore him for now.

'Ok you have black jeans and an olive green tank top, we can make that work' Amber said, pulling some clothes out. I took a seat smiling over at her as she pulled out her own make-up kit, I closed my eyes and let her work her magic as my mind wandered off it Sebastian.
