When you lose your way and your fight is gone,
Your heart starts to break, then you need someone around,
Just close your eyes, while I put my arms above you and make you unbreakable.
She stands in the rain, just to hide it all,
If you ever turn around, I won't let you fall down,
I swear I'll find your smile and put my arms above you and make you unbreakable.
Unbreakable - Jamie Scott.Chrissy was back to school and had resumed her daily routine of pretense, all smiles and ignoring me. She was still pissed at me for not letting her die, and I honestly don't wish that I could take it back. If I were to go back in time, I'd do things the exact same way I'd done it the first time. I'd save her all over again.
Because I know.... I have hope.... That we could get through this.
I watched her from afar. She was so good at doing this. Pretending. And she continued her daily routine of lying to people. Only this time, her routine wasn't as strong as it used to be. She was doing everything she'd been doing, the exact same way she'd been doing them, only shittier.
Except it was just me noticing.
Except I was the only one who noticed the fear in her eyes, her broken smile, the sad tone that lingered in the sound of her laughter, the fact that her face fell when no body was looking.
Nobody, except me, of course.
Maybe that's because I knew what was going on in her life, or because I was the only one who cared enough to notice. I had no idea.
But each time she glanced in my direction, I didn't see anger in her eyes. I didn't see hatred in it, either. I just saw pain. So much pain that it made my heart break into a thousand pieces, because there was nothing that I could do, to take the pain away.
The pain in her eyes were much more evident than the happy mask she was putting on and I wondered how nobody noticed.
She wasn't as cheery as she used to be anymore. Just spoke when spoken to and often laughed too hard at very lame jokes.
I was the only one who noticed all these and I was the only one she was refusing to talk to.
