Chapter 8

"Kitten, we'll take you shopping for some clothes. Then we can go out for ice cream and a movie!" Tony shouts like a kid. I roll my eyes and giggle. I run to my room to get ready. Wait. "Tony!" I hear laughing down the hall. I can't help but smile. I love my new family.

We get in the limo Tony rented, and we head off to stores to get me new clothes. I don't like a lot of the styles, but there is a blue dress Nat and Wanda make me try on. (Pic below)

I feel uncomfortable. "I'm not so sure about this." I say nervously. "Come on, it's fine," Wanda calls excited. I walk out," I don't see what the big deal is anyway. It's not like I'm gonna wear this thing everyday." They stand and stare at me. "What?" "Ok, you are definitely getting that dress." I turn around and change back into my only clothes.

We head out and I see Hot Topic. I go in and see a ton of stuff here. I walk over and grab several shirts. I grab a Black Veil Brides tee shirt, a Panic! At the Disco shirt, a Fall Out Boy one, and several other things. When we leave the store, Tony is smiling his face off. "May I ask what you are happy about?" I ask. "It's nothing. I just think it's funny most of your new clothing either has nothing on it, or its from Hot Topic." Well, he's not wrong. We get back in the limo and I look out the window for a while.

"Iris, what's your favorite ice cream flavor?" Bucky asks, breaking the silence. "Never had it. Don't have the money." I state back. "Why?" Everyone stares. "You're in for a treat." Pietro smirks. "Ok, I've had enough. What is it with you guys and smirking?!" That just gets everyone to smirk. I laugh, "You make it hard for me to be mad at you!"

When we get back to the tower, I follow Tony, Wanda, Steve, Bucky, and Pietro to the theater. That's right. A theater in the tower. They hand me some kind of cold dessert. "Here's your ice cream. Vanilla topped with almonds and chocolate." I thank them and take a bite. A few minutes after The Conjuring starts, I'm very dizzy and nauseous. "Guys. Help." I manage to say. They turn and look at me with horrid eyes. "PIETRO! WAKE UP!" Wanda shouts to the sleeping figure. He quickly gets up and when he looks at me, he picks me up bridal style and runs to the infirmary. An oxygen mask is quickly placed on me before I hear the dark empty abyss calling to me.

When I wake up I am in my bed. The Jaguars are guarding the door. I try sitting up, but a hand holds me down. I am met with a figure with black hair and green eyes. "Easy, mortal. Thor said something about a new Avenger. I didn't know you'd be so young." Blue jumps on the bed beside me. "How come I haven't met you before," I ask in my groggy voice. He hands me a cup of water. "I spend most of my time in my room or the library. I don't feel as if I need to be with them." I drink my water. "Do you know what happened to me?" I ask. He nods, "You got scared."
