Chapter 4

Previously

I run to Kora when she picks me up. She runs back behind the bushes when I turn back to my normal form.

I write a letter to the strange people and throw it at them. I then run in the direction of Kora and the others. See ya later losers.

She was adorable! I am sad I can't keep the little jaguar, but I'm happy she has family. I look down to see a piece of paper. I pick it up and read it.

Dear strangers, I thank you for not taking me away from my home. I ask that you may help the little girl Jenna find her family. Yours truly, the little jaguar cub.

I look at the paper shocked. Pietro noticed and takes the letter from me and reads it."Well, didn't see that coming." Everyone looks at him confused. "That cub was Iris!"

Pietro runs in the direction the jaguar ran. He didn't come back. I use my powers to read his mind. I gasp. "Wanda, are you ok?" Steve asks, concerned. I run in the direction of Pietro. "Come on! We have to go!" I shout behind me. Everyone follows Pietro's path, until we find him out cold against a tree.

Pietro's POV

I run past the bushes and trees in the direction the jaguar took Iris. It didn't take more than three seconds to find them. I put my hand over her mouth and start dragging her to the group. "You didn't see that coming?" She elbows me in my stomach and I let go. She turns around, and I look at her. Her long auburn hair now has a hint of green. She points a hand at me and four jaguars surround me. I try to run, but I'm stuck. "Crap." My hands are tied in vines. The girl smirks,"You didn't see that coming?" Her hands glow white and lowers them. I become very tired and fall asleep.

Iris's POV

After that 'fight' I set Speedy against a tree. I call off Grey, Blue, Kona, and Tessa. We all decide to hunt, so we follow a very faint trail. We choose the weaker scent for more fun. We usually hunt our prey until we are tired or full. Kona finds a new den for us to sleep, and we rest. But Kino doesn't  sleep. He stays by my side the whole night.

Natasha's POV

Once we find Pietro sleeping against the tree, I relax slightly. He wakes up and tells us the story. "I found Iris. She tied me up and those jaguars circled me. And the next thing I know I'm asleep." "I'm confused to why she didn't try to hurt you." I reply. Isn't she working for HYDRA?

We all ignore the question and report our findings to Fury. "Well done Avengers. Now stay and catch her." Thor's eyes go wide,"You mean, we have to stay in this place of the wild? With beasts that wander at nightfall?" I nod. We end the conversation and wander into a cave. "This is nice," I say sarcastically. "How can this poor child sleep at night?" Tony says dramatically. Everyone falls asleep except for me and Clint.

We watch outside the cave for any predators. "You should get some rest." Clint says. I nod and lay down with everyone else, closing my eyes and relaxing.

Iris's POV

I wake up with Kino's paw on my chest. I get up and so does everyone else. We go outside our den for our morning hunt. After our fill, we decided to play. I run from Tessa and Kino, Grey, Blue, and Kora do the same. Tessa pounces on top of me and growls. I laugh and push her off, tackling her. Everyone else joined in on the fun, and played until we got tired. We take a break, laying in the sun, when I hear a pebble fall. I roar, causing all of us to run.

Clint's POV

I stay up all night. I can't sleep. I become very tired until I hear laughter. My senses become sharp again and I look outside the cave. I grab my bow and quiver. I tap Natasha on the shoulder, waking her up. I point to where I saw Iris getting tackled by the jaguar. Her eyes widen, and she wakes up the rest of the team. We all watch the six playing together until Nat moves a pebble.

A roar is heard and they run off. "Pietro, now!" Wanda shouts. Pietro runs off, and that's when I realized no one's been talking much. Several roars and yells are heard, and everyone else runs towards the fight.

Iris stands over the laying jaguars, crying. "Leave me be," she sobs. Tony reaches out to her. "Iris. You have to come with us." She turns around and pushes all of us against trees with a flick of her wrist. "He dicho me deje en paz!" (I said leave me alone!) She shouts.

She runs back over to the stirring jaguars, putting her hands on two at a time. A light glows from her hands, and the animals are back on their feet, growling. None of us dare to move." I don't want to hurt you, but I will do anything for my family," she tells us before blasting us again and blacking out.

Iris's POV

After throwing those people against the trees, I run back to my only family. I use most of my energy to heal them. After healing Kora, I blast the strangers, forcing them to the ground before blacking out from lack of energy.

Kino's POV(Surprise!!!)

Tessa and I help Iris on Grey's back, telling him to hide her. He leaves, and the rest of us make sure these humans don't move. We block the path Grey took, and every time they take a step forward, Kora growls.

The brown-haired person's hands glow red, and sense her entering my mind. Let us pass. Not a chance. We only want Iris. I know. You want to experiment on her even more. We won't let you. She looks surprised. We don't want her as an experiment. I'm sorry that we made that impression. So you won't hurt us?We won't. Please let us help her. Maybe. Talk to Tessa. She nods and talk to her friends. They seem to understand. The girl's hands glow again, and Tessa walks over to me. "Let them pass," she commands.

I growl, "But they want to take our family!" Tessa nods,"That girl said we could come." My eyes grow wide. I lower my head before leading the strangers to where Grey hid Iris.

Tessa: Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know to-

Author: Hey!

Tessa: Yes?

Author: Why are you here? I'm supposed to say to vote and comment.

Tessa: Oh well, grow up.

Author: Says the one who still plays tag.

Tessa: What?

Author: Nothing.

Spider-Man: Hey guys!

Angry Tessa and Author: What!?

Spider-Man: Woah! What's gotten into you two. I just wanted to swing by.

Author: No! You can't be here!

Spider-Man: And why is that?

Author: Tessa!

Tessa: On it! *chases Spider-Man*

Spider-Man: *swings away*
