Chapter 6

"It's fine. I don't care that much anyway. It's not like they would want me to get all depressed about it." I cut him off. I finish the dishes and go to my room. I lay on the bed next to Kino, and we quickly fall asleep.

I wake up around five. I get up and throw my shoes on. I grab my toothbrush and go to the bathroom. Once I finish brushing my hair and teeth, I take the elevator to the first floor. I run outside towards the closest park.

When I get there, I tie my shoes tight and get in the running position. I count to three, then I run. I must run pretty fast because a guy sitting on a bench stares in shock. When I finish my run I jog back to the tower. I take the stairs to my room.

I change into my sweatpants and grey sweatshirt, then head to the kitchen. I grab a granola bar and I some raw meat from the meat compartment. This'll have to do. I carry the meat to my room where Kino, Grey, Tessa, and Kora are waiting. Blue is sleeping on the bed. I open the packaging and toss it on the floor. I apologize, "Sorry guys. This is the best I could find." They nod in acceptance and eat their fill. I smile as I eat my granola. We get up and walk around, until I see a gym. I smirk as I walk over to a punching bag.

Steve's POV

I feel so bad for having Iris bring up her real family. I want to apologize again later when she's awake, knowing that she'd be sleeping at five in the morning. I'm also curious about her powers. I get in my workout clothes and head to Central Park with Bucky. When I get there I see a young girl that looks like Iris jogging. I shrug it off and we start our run.

When we get back to the tower, I start making breakfast. I finish the pancakes and bacon when Bruce shows up."Hey Steve, have you seen Iris? She's not in her room, and neither are the jags." I shake my head, getting concerned,"I haven't seen her come out of her room at all. You can ask JARVIS."

He nods,"JARVIS, pull up the footage of Iris's room from this morning." "Yes Mr. Banner" The screen plays the video from last night, until we see her get up and leave. "Stop." The video stops when she leaves at five. Bucky laughs, "She's 16 and she gets up as early as us." I sigh and run my hand through my hair,"Did you look everywhere?" He nods, "Yes. Unless she snuck pass me, she isn't here." Tony walks into the room, followed by Nat and Thor.

"Could Steve get any louder? God, I just want some sleep," Nat whines. She goes to the kitchen and grabs her plate. I look at her, "What do you mean, 'get any louder'? I'm right here." Her eyes widen,"I thought you were in the gym, training." I look at Bruce and Bucky and they look back. We get up and run to the gym.

Iris's POV

I keep punching, getting stronger with every hit. Everyone else is playing tag with each other. I give a roundhouse kick before I break the bag."Oops." I stare at the hole. That's a mess. I light a flame on my hand before burning the bag and sand into thin air.

I turn my head just in time to see someone try to punch me. I quickly dodge and send a punch at my attacker. I grab their arm and twist it. I pull it behind their back and push them to the ground. I look at the redhead realizing Natasha was my attacker. I quickly let her get up and go to my water bottle. I take a drink as she sits by me."You scared us, you know," she states, "especially Steve."
