Kino growls, "Our last mission for a while. I'm gonna find a way for us to be together, you know." I nod, "I know. Until that opportunity is available, don't stress about it." He purrs and wraps his front legs around my arm and bites it playfully. "I love you," Kino purrs and licks my face. "I love you too," I say back.

Joshua's POV

Ok. I was just kidnapped with my family, rescued by the Avengers, and now I'm watching Iris, who I assumed was dead, talk to a bunch of cats. I've lost it. I want to go home, but mom, dad, Jesse and Carley aren't here.

Bruce Banner walks up to us and looks at me, "Joshua, your family is gonna be fine. They're just resting." "Can I go see them," I ask. "Yeah," The Tony Stark smirks, "If you can fly." He looks at Iris. I get angry and clench my fists. Iris slaps Tony on the arm and says something to him I can't here. She walks over and grabs my hand. Iris opens the jet and jumps, taking me with her. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!"

Iris's POV

I jump, dragging Josh with me. I let go of his wrist and he screams. I just laugh. "You're laughing at a time like this?! What is wrong with you?!" He yells. "You tried to kill me. I think this is a way of getting even." I shift into my dragon form and open my wings. I fly after Josh and I catch him with my claws. I don't scratch him at all, even though he deserves a couple.

I fly past the quinjet and to the helicarrier Josh's family is on. After I land, I change back into my usual self and help him up.

"You ok there," I ask. He shakes his head, "How can I be ok?! I almost fell to my death!" "But you didn't," I smirk. Ok. Now I know why Tony smirks. This is amusing!

I lead him past the other agents and towards the infirmary. When we get there, I let him see his family. I stand by the door, playing with some water. Waving it between my fingers, I watch it intensely. Josh finishes his talk and walks over to me, "Mom wants to see you."

He drags me over to Julie's bed. When her eyes land on me, she embraces me. I hug her back. When we pull away from the hug, she asks, "How are you doing Iris?" I smile, "I'm doing great! I've gotten back on my feet, along with being a part of the coolest families." She asks me to tell her everything. I tell her about my escape to the forest, my jaguar family, my encounter with the Avengers, and how I became an Avenger.

I am embraced one more time before I go. As I leave, I hear Tony asking for my presence. I reach the lab he's always in. He talks while working on upgrades for his suit. "So, I assume you like your suit," he asks. "Yeah. It's great!" Tony smirks, "Of course it is, I invented it. Oh! Which reminds me. What is your superhero name gonna be?" I sit down and watch him do his work, "I honestly haven't been thinking about that lately." He smiles, "Great! We can figure this out at dinner!"

I get up and walk to the runway and grow my wings. "Guys, I'm heading back to the tower early. I'm tired and I want to read." I say into my earpiece. "Alright, be careful," Steve's voice rings through my ears." "Copy. See you at the tower." I open my wings and take off.

Once I land at the tower, I walk towards the library. I grab Paper Towns and start reading it. I grab my phone and plug in the earbuds. I listen to Victorious by Panic! At the Disco. Song after song, band after band, I read. I hummed along to every song, until I start singing.

I don't notice Loki closing his book and watching me sing.

I end a song, and I jump when I hear clapping. "You startled me!" I gasp. "Well, I am the God of Mischief," he smirks. I quietly laugh, then grab my book and start walking out towards the door.

"LADY IRIS, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" Thor's voice booms throughout the library. "A. Can you keep your voice down. And B. I'm going shopping for school supplies." Thor smiles, "Brother Loki! Come accompany Lady Iris with her shopping for the school supplies." Loki starts backing up into the library, but Thor starts chasing him. I laugh as Thor picks up Loki and walks him over to where I'm at.

He scowls at Thor before following me out the door. "So, what is this school you're attending tomorrow," he asks. "It's basically a prison for children that forces them to be smart." I sigh. Loki's face grows with horror. "How terrible! Even I'm not that cruel!" I laugh, "I'm kidding. It's a building children go to for about to gain knowledge. It's kind of boring though."

We walk into a Walmart and head to the school supplies. I grab some folders, notebooks, a couple binders, pencils, pens, etc. Loki and I talk the whole time. We check out, and walk towards the tower when we hear screaming.

I run towards the sound and see a building on fire. I drop my bags and run to a woman. "M....my child...My Liz!" She sobs. Without thinking, I run into the building. I hear Loki shout after me, but I keep walking. I start to yell, "Hello?! Liz?!" I hear a little girl cry, "Help me." I follow the voice to a burning room with a crying girl. I quickly tear a strip of fabric from my shirt and cover her mouth and nose with it.

I inhale deeply and the flames decrease. "Liz, I want to help. I'm going to need you to hold on ok?" She nods, and I grow my dragon wings. I bend down and she wraps her arms around my neck. I stand normally and run to the nearest window and break it. I turn around, and quickly kill the rest of the flames. I jump out, landing softly as my wings disappear. I hand the child to the mother and run to Loki. I grab my bags and start walking back to the tower, when I see someone in red and blue spandex web his way to the scene. He's too late.

Loki follows me, shocked by my actions. When I get back to the tower, I head straight to my room and turn on the cold water in the shower. I look at myself in the mirror. I have a cut on my elbow from the glass, but nothing too serious. I undress and take a long, cold shower. I put on my clothes and head to the lounge room, and I find Steve, Natasha, Clint, Bruce, and Tony giving me 'the look'. Well, all but Tony.

"So, wanna tell us where you and Loki were today," Natasha says in a mother-like tone. "Uh. Not really. We went school shopping and walked back..." "Saved a child from a fire?" Clint adds on. "It's on the news, isn't it," I groan. They nod and play a video. It shows me jumping out of the window with Liz hanging on to me. "We aren't happy, but we're not mad either. I mean, anything could've happened to you!" Steve says, a little louder than necessary. "Yes, but nothing did happen to me, did it." I continue, "I stopped the most of the fire, saved a child, and left the scene right as Spider-Man showed up."

Tony smirks and we high five, "That's our girl!" Nat and Clint give Tony the death glare. "Guys, I'm sorry. I just had to help. I am a superhero, after all." I say.

I walk to the gym to find the jags running on the treadmill Tony made for them. I smile, "You guys really don't want to leave, do you?" They stop and look at me. They shake their heads no. "Maybe we can find a way to stay."
