The sun rose.
And then the sun fell.
And it rose again.
Only to fall once more.Haley stilinski refused to leave the comforts of her home.
Her father did not know why.
Her brother was hellbent on revenge. For once in her life, Haley's eyes were as cold as ice. All the brown colour some would seek comfort for was drained with each tear that fled her eye. She was childish.
She was naive.
She should have seen it coming.
But she didn't.
And that only caused her downfall.Haley pulled each corner of her blanket around her. Her makeup was stained under her eye, even though she tried hard to scrub off the remainder. The makeup stain caked onto her skin. Her dad had left for work, still not knowing how to respond to a teenage breakdown. He did not know what had happened. Because how could she tell him she witnessed a friends death by the hands of his alpha. She couldn't tell him that the guy that appeared at the house on more than one occasion was to blame, and she wouldn't tell him that she was too late to save them.
Stiles was pulling his jacket on in the hallway, his eyes skimmed over a ball of brunette hair. Each strand obviously woven into one another.
He had spent yesterday with her.
And the day before. Holding onto the fragile girl as she blubbered and cried. Haley stilinski was strong. But she wasn't strong enough to watch a death so close to her. He pulled his arms in to his sleeves and crept over to the girl, scared to startle her.
His hands found their way to hers, clasping around her tiny fingers and watching as her wide eyes looked up. Stiles sheepishly smiled at his twin sister, which she returned as her lips attempted to rise."I have to leave." Stiles told her abruptly. He didn't want to sneak out or cause another epidemic of pain.
Her smile fell but she knew why.
Derek was suffering too.
He blamed himself.
Which made him disappear.Haley nodded, both of their minds racing about the alpha. Stiles quickly kissed his sisters forehead and rose from his position, leaving a slightly disheveled girl on the couch. Stiles stilinski was not one for affection.
The door shut behind him.
Leaving Haley alone.
But she was okay with that.
Because it meant she could sleep.*****
The day has passed, her dad was home first. Haley feared something had happened to her twin brother. But her gut normally wrenched at instinct, so she pulled it down to hysteria. Sheriff stilinski slipped through the threshold, opening the door and letting a waft of Chinese aroma sink through the air. He waited for a response from his daughter, one that screamed joy from her favourite food. But what he received was much different.
Her head tilted towards the door, a subtle smile tugging at the corners of her lips. But it did not reach her eyes. Because her golden brown orbs were swelled and red, fresh tears stained on her cheeks as she recalled that night. Her cheeks burnt a crimson, matching the shade of the whites of her eyes.
Sheriff stilinski rushed over to his daughter in a fast pace. He placed the food down on to the coffee table and submersed his daughter into a hug.
He pulled her into his chest and hummed the song her mother used to, gently pulling his fingers through her hair in a form of comfort. Haley Burst into tears once more, not used to the sudden comfort from her father. He gently rocked her shaking torso to calm her, none realising the door had opened.Stiles wandered in to his home exhausted, he had just been told the story of Paige and Derek, much to his distain.
Because if derek hale was the least bit like Scott McCall in his school life time. It meant Scott mccall could become what they feared most about Derek hale.
Broken. The stilinski son was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of tears flooding his eardrums. The smell of warm food also lingered in the air and his body flooded with emotion.
