Chapter 11- Phil

Joeys POV

"Phil Keoghan?! The Amazing Race host, Phil Keoghan?" Meghan repeated.

"Yup."

"Joey you have to tell me details! Why did he call? Is it about the Race again?"

"He asked us to go back on. They're going to start filming for season 24 in a couple weeks and they and gonna bring back the 'favorites' from previous years. I guess they liked us."

"We are pretty famous. But what did you say?"

"I asked him if we could have some time to think it over. But now that I know you're pregnant, that puts a whole new perspective on things."

"Well by the time they start filming, I'll probably be showing. Plus running the race took us last time about a month, so they'd know I'm pregnant. And doing all the obstacles wouldn't be good for the baby." Meghan said, probably regretting getting pregnant.

"I'm sorry. If it wasn't for me we'd be able to do the race again."

"No no Joey! It's okay! The baby is already a miracle! Look how close its brought us! And just because I can't do the race doesn't mean you don't have to." She's starting to tear up. I'm still not completely sure what she's saying though. She must have seen a confused look on my face so she explained.

"Call Phil and the producers back and ask if you can go on, just bring someone else on. Explain to him how I got pregnant and I still think you should go on." I understand now.

"But who do I bring? I want someone as athletic and helpful as you."

"Awe," she said as she kissed my cheek. "How about Cat? Or David if he mans up? Or Shane? Someone willing to exercise."

I pulled out my phone and starting calling my friends. First up- Shane. Meghan joined in to make it a three way so it was easier to explain.

"Hey Joey! What's up?"

"Hey Shane!" Meghan says, catching Shane off guard, probably expecting my voice.

"Hey Shane it's me and Meghan."

"Oh hey the next Angelina Jolie! Starting early with the kids I see?"

"Shane shut it!" I said back laughing, Meghan not so much.

"Anyway.. I know how you've always wanted to get in shape. And I was kinda wondering... if you'd like to go on the Amazing Race with me."

"Oh. Well as much as I want to, I'm not sure Id be good at it. I'm not as thin and muscular as you are ya know. But why can't she go on with you?"

"Shane that's a dumb question, you know she's pregnant."

"Hell Joey if I was pregnant, I'd do the most extreme things so when my a baby grows up I can tell him that he was so hardcore and badass."

"Okay I take that as a no. So I'll see you when I we get back okay?"

"Okay have fun." I hung up the phone. "Well he's out of the question."

"Cat?" Meghan asked.

"Hey Cat sorry to bother you.."

"Joey you just called me about 5 minutes ago. Is something wrong?"

"Well, if it's okay with the producers, would you like to go on the Amazing Race again with me?"

"Oh my gosh! You're not joking are you? I'd love to!"

"Awesome! Meghan can't really do it again for obvious reasons so I needed to ask a friend to join me. I still need to call the producers to make sure, so I'll be calling you back in a bit."

"You have a partner!" Meghan leaned over and kissed me. I didn't want it to end, but people started staring.

"You should probably call Phil and ask him."

"Alright," I dialed the number and waited.

"Hello Joey. Have you and Meghan made up your mind? We would love to have you back."

"Well that's why I'm calling you. I was wondering if I could bring another Youtube friend to race with me."

"Why?" "Because Meghan's pregnant."

"Congratulations! And the producers and I say yes you can, as long as Meghan is able to come for the interviews still to explain why you switched. And have your friend send out her information to our P.O. box or through email. And quick question for Meghan, if she's here." I handed the phone over to Meghan.

Meghan's POV

"Hello?"

"Hey Meghan! Congratulations on the news!"

"Thanks Phil!"

"Oh you're welcome! But I want to talk to you about being a surprise guest host on the show. Every team is able to bring one 'support' guest who stays with me and the others the whole time during the race and can watch it live. And everytime Joey and his teammate finish first, you can be there awaiting them, encouraging them. What do you say?"

"Oh yes! I'd love that!"

"But I was thinking, since I let all the other teams choose who they wanted to come, maybe this will be another surprise to Joey?"

"That's a great idea! I won't tell I promise!"

"Alright. I will see you in 2 weeks."
