Chapter 9 - Smiles

Zen's POV
"Man that meeting was tiring." I yawned, hearing Mitsuhide chuckled at my words.

"I agree Zen. Seems that you can't handle staying put for hours." I punched him, hearing Mitsuhide chuckles some more and gave out a long and tired.sigh

"Are you trying to imply to me running away from the castle again...?" I sweat dropped as he just chuckled nervously some more, scratching his head.

"Let's go back to th-"

'I hear someone crying... Like it's in agony. It sounds like a female... Crap, is it Stella?'

"Zen?"

"Yes Mitsuhide?"

"Do you think that's Stella?" I nodded my head and started walking with Mitsuhide following behind me. I turned around the corner, seeing Stella on the ground with her head in her hands.

Crying in agony and pain, her sobs sounded as if she wants to end her misery with a fatal and depressing end. I rushed to her side and heard her mumbling nonsense that no one can hear clearly.

"Hey Stella are you okay?! What happened?!" I tried making her look up to me with Mitsuhide scouting the area around us in case there was a threat towards Stella.

"Sorry... I'm sorry!"

'Sorry? Why is she apologizing? Who did this to her?'

"STELLA!" I shouted her name, trying to snap her out of her painful trance. She slowly removed her hands from her head and looked up to see me and Mitsuhide. She quickly snapped her head left to right as if she was looking for something.

"Zen...? Mitsuhide....? What happened? W-when did you come?" I sighed in relief and looked T her concerned.

"Stella, we came here not too long ago because Mitsuhide and I heard you crying. Why exactly were you crying like that?" She shook her head and embraced me into a surprising hug. I saw Mitsuhide panic when she tackled me to the ground.

"Stella...?" She slowly lift her head towards me and Mitsuhide and gave a sorrowful smile.

"Ja... Sorry, but I was just scared. Obi kinda gave me a shock and I kinda ran, but I was just remembering some painful memories..." She gave us another sorrowful expression as I felt like murdering Obi. My fists enlarged and pumped them into the air in frustration. I felt Mitsuhide sweat drop and back away.

"Um Zen...? Can you maybe calm down...?" I turned around to face Mitsuhide and glared like an evil person.

"NO! I CANNOT CALM DOWN! WHERE IN IS RIGHT MIND WOULD OBI MAKE MY LITTLE SISTER CRY?! HE HAS A DEATH WISH!" Mitsuhide chuckles nervously and slid next to me, probably in fear.

".... Little... Sister...?" I turned to face her suddenly. She cocked my her head enough for her long turquoise hair to touch the ground. My eyes immediately widened, realizing what I had said.

'Her hair is seriously long and pretty... She's probably really confused... What did I say...?'

"U-um well... When I see you, you feel like a little sister of mines that I have to protect. Small and fragile, I want to be there for my little sister... Especially when she's hurt... I'm sorry if you're uncomfortable with it! I'll stop! Sorry!" I bowed as Mitsuhide started laughing weakly which made me even more embarrassed. Unexpectedly, I heard a small cute and angel like laugh which made me blush more out of embarrassment.

"Sorry, but I actually don't mind! I miss having a older brother looking out for me... Thank you Zen-nii..." She was smiling, for the first time of all times when I saw her sad, she smiled. A real and natural smile. It was beautiful...
