Stella's POV
After the whole crazy stuff in Zen's office, I thought that I should go and read this book that I found and find some answers for some questions for now and for the future. It felt foreign to even think about my home and all of my horrid memories and thoughts that haunts me constantly. It's just a never ending well filled with creatures trying to pull my limbs apart while falling deeply into the dark pit with screams of agony and regret. Shuddering my thoughts away, I walked towards a nice sturdy tree in the nearby training forest on the castle grounds.
'The soldiers weren't training in the forest today so I should be find some answers without any interruptions.' I pulled myself up the tree and dusted off my thighs from the leaves and wood dust and stared at the front of the book.
'...The Dark Secrets of The FairyIsland Rulers... My home... My family...'
I shook my head vigorously as I took a deep breath inhaling the fresh air that the outdoors gave me. The cool breeze brushed against my frail body as my long and silky hair flew along with the wind. The calming of the trees swaying and cool but warm sunlight was all that calmed my nerves down to even hold a book of such topic. Diverting my attention back to the book, I hesitantly flipped the smooth brown leather cover as I waited to reveal any unknown answers.
Obi's POV
'I honestly don't think that I should leave miss star alone... After leaving quite hastily, it's suspicious... Somethings also been bothering me... What was that book that Stella held onto, I've never seen it before in the library.'I quickly followed Stella but kept my distance as she walked into the forest training grounds. She swiftly lifted herself up a sturdy and tall tree as I stayed behind a tree from about a few feet away. I heard her heaved out a sigh as the sound of a book was opened a couple of seconds later. At the same moment, the wind fluttered around the trees as it brushed past my hair and exposed skin.
Time passes by as I heard small sobs from Stella coming up from the tree a few feet away from me. It was painful to hear her cry while I'm just sitting here, but I don't think it's a proper time to just appear. Just what is in that book that can put her to such emotions? Does it have to do something with her past? I wish she could trust me more...
Noises of shuffling were heard as footsteps were headed my way. Automatically, I knew that it was Stella who was gonna find me here if I don't move. I quietly got up in a crouch and tried to stealthy move to my right, but ended up slipping.
'Crap! I'm screwed!'
"O-Obi! W-what are you d-doing here!?"
'Well damn... I got caught, so much for being sneaky.'
"Oh hey miss star, I um just... Yeah..." I awkwardly scratches my cheek while I felt blood rising to my cheeks. 'I hope that I'm not blushing... And what kind of excuse is that?!'
"How long were you here and what kind of excuse is that! Why were you here Obi?!" 'Crap, with the excuses. This is embarrassing...'
"Sorry miss star... But why were you crying and what is that book about? Tell me honestly..." I saw her flinch and diverted her eyes to the ground as her turquoise bangs fell to her eyes to shadow her eyes.
Stella's POV
'Crap... What do I say?! Should I trust Obi!? How do I know to trust another?! What should I do-''Shut the hell up! You're so stupid!'
'Eh?! What are you saying!'
'You said it yourself before, that cat reminds you of Shi-nii! If you can trust Shi-nii like before, then trust the dam cat! The stupid damn cat saved us that day too! So stop being a dumbass!'
'... Yea... What have I been doing after all this time... I could trust Obi... Thanks, I really appreciate it.'
'Shut up and hurry up and respond to the cat before he starts getting even more suspicious of what is wrong with you!'
'O-oh right! Thank you!'
"H-hey miss star...? Earth to miss star?" I snapped out of my conversation with my other side and stared at Obi as he stared back in a weird and concern line of sight.
"O-oh, sorry Obi... I think we should take a seat for me to explain everything..." Obi's face was still confused and concern as we sat next to a sturdy and tall tree. I heaved out a long sigh and stared at the tops of the forest.
"So, I will tell you everything that I can say for now and well... Here goes..."Timeskip (Stella tells Obi everything she told Zen and Mitsuhide and some more details.)
"So yea... That's my horrendous life of a damn lie in a dark well."
"I'm sorry to hear that miss star..." I sighed with a slight bit of relief to get this off my chest, but felt a pain of hurt and worry.
"O-Obi?" He hummed in response while we stared into each other's eyes. His golden eyes were hard to tell what he was thinking or feeling right now, but I knew that I felt like I had mixed emotions.
"D-do you h-hate me now...? Knowing that I'm some kind of monster with a bloody past... D-do you want to stray
a-away from me?" Before I knew it, tears spilled from my eyes as I quickly turned my back towards Obi as I felt like disappearing into a void of darkness. 'He'll hate me won't he?! I'm a monster! We're both monsters-'"Obi?" A warm embrace from behind me gave me warmth as the grip of the hug got tighter. The wind gently howled against us as the trees swayed in silent rustles.
"I don't hate you Stella, you're someone precious to me. I don't care about your past or what you are... You're Stella."
'I'm so conflicted... He calls me Stella yet my name isn't Stella... It's Akira, but my other self also has another name... It hurts... Who exactly am I...? I guess for now, this is fine...'
"Thank you Obi..." He slowly turned me around as we shared eye contact and smiled cheerfully. We laughed and chatted as time passed by as we enjoyed ourselves. Yawning, my eyes slowly drooped as I rested my head onto Obi's sturdy shoulder.
"... Sorry Obi, but... I'm really sleepy... I want you to read the book too... It'll... Help you understand more than what I said... Thank you..." My eyes abandoned the light as darkness surrounded to consume me to sleep.... But this time, I had a light right next to me who I can now trust.'Thank you Obi...
