Third person POV
"You should take better care of yourself miss. The young man was very concern of your wellbeing." The doctor said, removing a few pieces of glass from her hand."...... It's not like it'll matter anytime soon." Chinodori sighed in annoyance of her situation.
"Of course it matters dear." The nurse said, disinfecting the finished cuts with some alcohol mixed in with an herb. "I don't know your story dear, but you should cherish those around you like how others care for you. Such as that gentleman who was in here with you."
"...... Sure..." Chinodori closed her eyes shut and relaxed her body while she let the professionals do their work to help heal her visible scars.
'It's not like I'll be able to stay here happily like some regular human... There's no point in something so crappy...'
—————After hours in the patient room, Chinodori's stitches was a success. The doctor and nurse had worked wonders into making sure ever small bit of glass was removed. Still, they wanted Chinodori to take it easy on her hands and feet. They didn't want her to risk enduring an even worse injury, so they asked her to rest in one of the rooms used for patients staying overnight.
"Use the time I have to cherish people who cares for me? Sounds like a bunch of useless talk." Chinodori clicked her tongue and twisted the knob to a random room and entered.
The only light in the room was the sunset's light seeping in through the window. Her attention perked up when she heard small breaths further in the room. Curious, she silently walked over to the bed and flinched once she recognized the male.
"Did he stay here the entire time...?" Chinodori's cherry red eyes blinked.
"Pft... What an idiot." Chinodori grinned and sat on the side of the bed.
Gently, she brushed Mitsuhide's soft hair with her bandaged hand and her warm and delicate eyes. Her heart fuzzed up when she figured out that Mitsuhide stayed near to support her instead of retiring far away to his room. Still, she sadly frowned at the thought of her life in comparison to his.
*Drip drop*
Chinodori retracted her hand away from Mitsuhide and looked out the window to not only view the sun setting, but to stare face to face at her reflection in the glass. Her grin was nowhere to be found in replacement of a frown. She created an illusion where blood was smeared all over her face and a shadow hand caressing her cheek.
"......" Chinodori's eyes drooped and her single crystal-white tear turned into a light shade of red.
Chinodori stared at Mitsuhide's vulnerable yet peaceful expression and hesitated to lay down beside him. Still, she wanted this feeling to last while it possibly could.
—————"Mmm..." Mitsuhide groaned as he woke up from his long and tired-some nap. He rubbed his eyes and let out a sigh of exhaustion.
Hearing a faint sound of breathing like a kitten, his confused attention was brought towards his right. He stared blankly at the sight before for a few seconds or so before his brain processed everything. Instantly, he fully woke up with shock taking over his body.
"CH-CHINO-" Mitsuhide slapped his own mouth since he didn't want to wake up the girl, but he couldn't stop his heart from racing or his face from blooming embers of a fire. He didn't expect her to be next to him after all.
"Wh-when did she get here?" Mitsuhide sighed worriedly.
"... S..." Chinodori muttered in her sleep.
