Chapter 29- Memory Games

Third person POV
"So... What did you want to try to explain?" Stella asked, stern.

"I'm sure you're curious to know how Majo, Nise, and I are alive and well with our abilities... I can assure you that no one else was able to come back alive." Shi said, taking a sip from a boiled herbal tea.

"Not even mother or father?" Stella asked, slightly shocked.

"Not even them." He restated.

"Then... How is it that you and the other two are alive? How did you come back alive?!" Stella said a bit too loudly, eyes wide.

"That is something I will answer lastly. We'll simply exchange questions for the other to answer. I'll go first... What happened to Nise's body after I died? You killed him after I died from his hands and he has told me that he wasn't suppose to be found alive." Shi's eyes were unreadable, seeing the hesitant look on Stella's face.

"... I... Chinodori and I fought him at the surrounding borders of the mountains. The one where Mother would always go to in secret to overwatch our battles behind a mirror. Mother... She disturbed the battle between Nise and I. She ended up killing Nise when he was fatally wounded by me... It was horrible...! She threw his body off the cliff, opposite siding of where our castle lays... His body wasn't found after I killed Mother..." Stella's face was filled with a grim expression.

"I see... I suppose someone alive or a commoner helped Nise. I'll have to drive out an answer from him." Shi stated, staring at Stella's as she avoided eye contact.

"By bringing everyone back alive somehow, will everyone's powers remain at max capacity from the past or will their abilities be decreased?" Stella asked, needing to know how difficult her siblings will be this time around.

"I do not know of the complete answer, but I do know that emotions are being affected into our abilities." Shi sipped onto some more tea, smiling. "When we were trying to avoid battle with Chinodori, you can clearly tell Majo was frightened of her. Her fear brought less power in her abilities. And since your other side is so powerful, you could easily beat Majo."

"Oh..." Stella muttered out, not knowing if what Shi had said was the full truth.

"Why did you change your name to Stella and refuse to return to your original name Akira?" Shi asked, hurt which made Stella flinch.

"U-um...! I didn't want to be found by anyone... I didn't want any part of me to resemble my past. I even hated Chinodori, but now I care for her deeply too. I... Want to throw away my old self..." Stella sighed, hand to her chest as if her heart was aching.

"Why... Why did you rebuild our family name to gain reputation and trust?" Stella questioned, wondering if it was all for her sake or for the sake of power. Her eyes wavered uncertainty, scared of Shi's answer.

"I rebuilt everything here on this estate and our connections with lands far and wide. I did it all with ease and dedication to search for you."

"... Really?" Stella's eyes wavered, guilty.

"Mm. I missed your smile, your laughs, your gorgeous eyes that shined with purity despite the bloodshed... I love everything about you Akira." Sho said, taking hold of Stella's hand, giving it a light kiss.

"K-kyah!" Stella ripped her hand away from Shi, face flushed bright red. "W-what was that for?! W-we're siblings! We can't h-have gestures l-like that!" She said, bolting up from her seat.

"I know that you've had a brother complex and that brother was me." Shi grinned.

"!!!" Stella's face bursted into a deeper shade of red.
