" Ang, Ang! Get the f*ck up, mum wants you " Jasmine said shaking me.
I knew it was to good to be true. The fact that I knew I could still breath proved my point
"Hmmm, what time is it? " I asked rubbing my eyes trying to wake myself up.
" Dunno, like around 8 " she replied.
I groaned loudly, and instantly felt the sharp pain shooting through my entire body. I tried to cover up my pain expression, but I knew it was to late when I saw the look Jasmine was giving me.
" Jas I'll be down in a minute, could you go out please? " I asked.
" Sure. But you ok, I know somethings wrong " she told me.
" I'm fine. " I told her giving a reassuring smile.
"Ok, ¡date prisa!(Be quick!) " She snapped at me and walked out slamming the door. Yeah she was defiantly angry with me.
Everyone seems to be getting angry with me lately. Why? Cause I wouldn't tell them. How can I, it would ruin everything. I pushed myself of my bed I slowly walked down the stairs.
I could hear all of them talking and laughing. If only they did that when I was around. I could hear someone else's voice. It wasn't my mum, sister's or brothers'. It was . . . Kadeem?
What was he doing here. I walked into the dinning and everyone went quiet. Ok, this was defiantly awkward.
" Ermm, hi Kadeem " I said sitting in between my brother.
He gave me a simple nod. Ermm . . . ok then.I flashed everyone a reassuring smile, before they all continued their conversations. I could feel everyone's eyes on me during dinner at some point. Everyone's except Kadeem. What is going on? He's always worried about me.
After dinner I tried to creep to my room, without anyone seeing me.
" ¿donde vas? ( Where are you going?) " She yelled in her thick cuban accent.
" Upstairs mama " I replied , slamming my room door shut.
I let out a heavy sigh, and closed my eyes letting the pain consume me.
Moments later, I heard my door open and close softly. I didn't have to look to know who it was.
" What do you want Kadeem? "
" An explanation Ang, you promised "
I looked up at him standing near the door. His eyes filled with hurt and betrayal. It was know or never. I tapped the spot next to me on my bed, to see him smiling before skipping to me. What a fool. I took a deep breath and looked him in the eye. I knew he was determined to find out what was wrong. I could trust him couldn't I ?
" Well Kadeem, the thing is th- "
I was cut off my phone vibrating on my bed. Both our heads snapped towards the direction of the noise.
* Incoming Call: Dad *
I began to panic. He never called me twice in one day. Myt breathing became heavy. I looked over to Kadeem, and he had is eyebrow raised.
" Ang, aren't you gonna pick it? Its your dad. "
" I can't. " I whispered
" Why? "
I decided to pick the phone instead.
" H-hi " I said
" Angel! I just wanted to here your voice again. I've missed you " he exclaimed.
In the background I could here a woman. He wouldn't. He couldn't.
" I suggest you talk to your wife " I snapped before hanging up.
I looked over at Kadeem. He had a worried expression. I had to tell him. He was the only one I could trust. I could feel the hot tears on my cheeks. Kadeem pulled me into a hug. I felt so safe. Safe from him.
" Kadeem " I sniffed.
"He. . . "
