Chapter 8

Kate POV

'Wow.' That is all I have to say when I see my new High school. Mount Caroline High.

"Welcome to your new high school." I hear as I continue to gape at the humongous sight. "There are roughly 4,000 students here and a heck lot of teachers, so ditching a class without a teacher seeing you is almost impossible. Trust me, I've tried."

'Don't worry Adam, I'm a good girl! I said with a shy smirk on my face when in reality I've been thinking about a prank that I'm going to pull on him.'

"Okay, everyone out. Come on let's get a move on, we need to hurry up."

"Josh, be quiet. Stop rushing us. We all know you just want to go and flirt with Bethany."

"No I don't!"

'Josh and Adam! Stop it!' I snap at them.

"Sorry." They mumble.

'Where is the front office? I still need to go and get my schedule since it didn't come in the mail like yours.'

"Just follow me, I'll show you." Adam said in a weird accent.

"Okay. Bye Josh!" I call out as Adam drags me by my arm.

"Hurry up!"

Rushy Rushy. I muttered under my breath.

"Hi Mrs.Delano."

"Hi Adam, what brings you here?"

"Just wanted to show Kate where the front office is."

"Oh, Hi Kate!"

'Hi Mrs. Delano'

"You must be the new student! Well, here is your schedule and this is just a little souvenir from the school. Have a great senior year!"

'Thank you!'  I call out as I exit the room.

'Aww. Look how cute this little puppy is!'

"The puppy is Roxy, our school mascot. It's not a manly name though, so we sometimes call her Rock."

"Why would you be so cruel to name her Rock?!? Roxy is a perfect name to this cute wittle puppy."

"Whatever. Let me see your schedule."

"Homeroom with Mr. Hick, Biology with Mrs. Baker, Calculus 3 with Mr. Shenrick, Latin with Mrs. Petterson, Advanced Orchestra with Mr. Jacob and Mrs. Shineright, Lunch (10:10 to 10:35), Free Period with Mrs. Tenner, and Health with Mr. Fieldman."

'Do you guys not have a block schedule?'

"No, we go to all the classes a day, 25 minutes for lunch, 1 hour for Health, 1 hour for Advanced Orchestra, 10 minutes for Homeroom, and 50 minutes for all your other classes. It's a pretty packed schedule, but we get off at 1 so 6 hours of this isn't too bad."

'Oh, I guess. Do you know where Mr.Hick's classroom is?'

"Yep! and lucky for you we have Homeroom and Calculus 3 together." He said with a grin.

'You take Calculus 3?!' I ask with astonishment.

"Why do you ask? Do I look too smart to be in that class?"

'More like the opposite,' I mumble. Too shocked to say anything else.

"You wound me." He says while putting his hand over his heart, which makes all the girls around us swoon. Well, they only swoon for a second, then they see me again and go back to shooting me death glares. I mean, it's not like I love standing next to Adam anyways.

"Come on." He says right when the bell rings. "I'll show you your locker later."

  'Okay. I'm coming.'

  Senior year here I come!
