Kate POV

Everybody is different; they live a different lifestyle, have different goals in life, and will take different roads to get there. Like those stressed-out dads you see when they are taking their babies out grocery shopping, or those happy families you see at the park. When seeing a couple showing lots of love and affection something might swell in your heart, there is something unconsciously happening in your brain when these feelings occur. The feelings might be good, or it might be bad. Nonetheless, they are feeling overall. However, the swelling you feel, or the hurt you feel from looking at another person might just be your unconscious understanding of the other person. It's like a small connection between two different people; it's that flickering rush of feeling that makes every person connected to one another. It's the way the world turns and the reason why you feel something by looking at other things.

"Watch out!" Someone yelled. I ducked my head just in time to feel a ball soar a couple inches over my head and into the nearby bush.

"Sorry!" A couple people called out almost simultaneously. Just then, a girl with short black hair and a t-shirt that said I woke up looking like this appeared and sat down across from me.

"Hey, I'm Sarah. Sorry about the flying volleyball incident, my friends and I kinda got a bit out of hand." I glanced at her and put down my book. She looked like a really nice person. She also looked very bubbly. 'It's okay.' "Do you want to come play with us? Not that reading is boring or anything..." She trailed off and looked to the right of my head where her friends had finally retrieved the ball.

'Sure, why not.' I closed my book and threw it back into my book bag. "Guys, this is umm... who are you?"

"Really Sarah, picking up random people to play with us? I see how it is; you're getting bored of us. I knew it!" The other girl exclaimed while throwing her hands up in the air.

"Shut up Grace, I was just asking her to hang out with us! You make that sound like a sin."

"Poor girl." Grace muttered, then turned to me. "I'm so sorry about Sarah, she normally isn't so bossy."

'It's okay, I don't mind playing volleyball, it's quite fun actually.' I said with a smile.

"Hey, I couldn't find anyone else to play volleyball with us on a day like thi- Who are you?"

'Hi, I'm Kate.' I then heard a low whistle. "You're Adams girl!" He shouted. 'Huh?'

"Shut up! Idiot, keep your mouth closed!" His friend said in a hushed voice.

"Yeah, yeah Mason, I hear you." Blonde hair boy said.

'Who are you?' I voiced my thoughts.

"Why do you want to know?" 'Well, I mean I can just call you blonde hair boy I guess...'

"Blonde hair boy!" Mason cried out while chuckling. "That's the best nickname anyone has called you!"

"Whatever." Blonde hair grumbled.

'I'm waiting!' I said in a singsong voice.

"Blake. Blake Morris." 'Hi, Blake Morris.'

"Be that way." He replied.

"Well, here's another person! Let's play volleyball!" Sarah yelled while spiking the ball.

After playing volleyball for an hour or so, I decided that I had played enough volleyball and had to head home. I picked up my book bag and went out into the parking lot, only to find Adams spot empty. I looked around a bit, but still couldn't find his car. So, I decided to call him. 'Hey Adam, where are you?' "Home babysitting Mark." 'Why? Shouldn't he be at school right now?' "Yeah, except he's sick and running a high fever. Mom and dad have to work late tonight and are in a meeting with other businesses right now. So, I'm in charge and taking care of a sick Mark." 'Oh.' I really didn't want him to come pick me up since he already had so much to do. I knew Josh couldn't pick me up because he has basketball training at some gym almost an hour away and I couldn't call Amber because she was busy, so I hung up on Adam.

I contemplated on walking home, but thought against it when I felt a drip of water land on my head. I quickly ran back to the roofed sidewalk and sat down on the ruff, brown bench. "Hey Kate, what are you still doing here?" Asked Sarah. 'Oh, I guess I'm waiting for the shower to pass so I can walk home, I guess. They don't kick students off of school grounds after 5:00 pm here, do they?' "No, but I can give you a ride home if you want." 'Really!' I exclaimed. "Yeah, sure. I don't see why not. Let me just go ask my brother. I'll be right back."

When she came back 5 minutes later I thought her brother had said no. 'It's okay Sarah, really. You don't have to.' "Robert said YES!" She squealed. 'Robert?' "Oh, he's my twin brother, come on lets go meet him."

When we arrived wet and cold in front of a blue Chevrolet I was sure Robert wouldn't let me in his car. "Open up Robert!" She shouted while banging on the passenger door window. I heard the click of the lock unlocking and barely saw the door open as I was shoved inside. 'Sarah!' I hissed turning around to glare at her. "What?" She responded so innocently. I turned to look at the driver, and was about to say sorry for wetting his seats when he shouted "It's you!"

I gaped at the guy I was looking at. It was Robert the sleepy guy who was my partner in Mrs. Tenner's free period class, the guy who sits next to me in biology, and the same guy who's in my health and orchestra class.

"I take it that you guys already know each other?" Sarah questioned from the back seat. "Yes, unfortunately." 'Meanie!' I exclaimed jabbing him in the side. "I mean, it's a pleasure to see you again." 'That's right!' Then we both busted out laughing.

"OMG!" I gasped. "What?!" They questioned at the same time. 'You are twins! I mean, you don't look like it at all but...' "Yeah, we are." Robert responded.

"How do you know?" Sarah questioned. 'Robert told me.' I replied. 'But, umm sorry to be rude, but can you start driving Robert? I'm kinda cold and need to go home.'

"Who said I would drive you home?" He cockily asked. 'Your sister.' I retorted.

Then he backed out of the parking lot muttering a bunch of random profanities.

'Bye!' I shouted closing the passenger door.' "Hey Kate?"

'Yeah?' "See you tomorrow!" He shouted, then drove off leaving me hanging in the pouring rain.
