I was in my gown and all dressed up, waiting for them to come. I knew this was a bad idea. A really bad one.
And there was a knock on the door exactly at 7pm.
I felt my heart racing.
"I dont want to, Mum" I said, really afraid by then.
She shot me an ugly look and went forward to recieve the guests. I was told to remain in my room till I was called.
I heard voices downstairs.
"Draco !" I heard Dad saying. His voice told me that he was happy. Hm.
I knew Draco to be just as tall as me, and I wasnt that tall. His platinum blond hair always slicked back and his cool grey eyes - girls died for. And he was mean and unsympathetic.

I heard footsteps coming up. Mum burst into my room, and took my hands to lead me downstairs.
"Be nice and polite " she said seriously, and we went down the stairs.
"Whatever" I muttered under my breath earning another dirty look.

The guests sat at the living room of our mansion, all engrossed in something my dad was saying. Meeting my future family, I thought glumly. Then my eyes fell on the tall boy seated in between the adults. The blond hair and grey eyes confirmed it was him, but I really could'nt believe it.
Draco was all different. I knew he was way taller than me now, dressed in a formal black suit, his usual gelled hair was left to fall over his forhead. There was a firmness around his jaws, and a dignified look all over.
We made eye contact, and that smirk appeared on his face. And then his mother came forward to hug me and made me sit next to her. They were all talking. But me. I was distracted.
I was lost in thought when I felt someone shaking me .
"Amelia !" Mum's voice was shrill.
I looked at her.
"The poor thing must be nervous, Katherine" said Narcissa Malfoy, stroking my hair gently.
I forced a smiled.
"Why dont you take Draco out to the Garden, dear " Mum said sweetly.
Well, too sweet.

We walked through the garden slowly. I hated the dress. I couldnt move well in it, and made me feel like a christmas tree. And it dragged on behind me.
"You're quite funny, you know, muttering to yourself all the time"
I looked at Draco as he stood, hands in his pockets and looking at me smugly.
I didnt reply to that. I had promised Mum that I would be polite.
"So" he began. "We are getting betrothed"
"Mhmmm" I said.
"What do you think about that, Amelia Harper ? "
"Not much" I replied.
He laughed.
" Well I think its going to be hilarious" he said. " Fun fun fun"
I stared at him as he said that.
That evil fly.

Dinner was a torture. I couldnt eat a thing and polite was all they wanted me to be, when I actually wanted to swat Draco on the head.
Lucius Malfoy went on about how he had faith and trust in me eventhough I was sorted in Gryffindor, and lived with blood traitors. And marrying Draco will put everything in its place, and joining our families will bring big things in the future.
Draco clearly enjoyed every bit of it, watching my expressions change to his father's words.

And finally as they left, Draco turned back to say "See you at school".
It sent shivers down my spine.
